Help setting up Private server for small group of friends

I want to make a private server for me and 7 other people. I want it close to the original experience but with increased SP and Exp gain. I dont want any SoS boosting gear in the beginning, Botting, items in silkshop or anything. Is there a simple guide I can follow to make this myself?

Yes, I suggest you use the search function and you're gonna find the right threads for that.

I recommend using the Justin-vSro files, they have some bugs but nothing some copy-paste query can't fix.

What IS Vsro? Ive never heard of vSro compared to Isro and Sro-r

Vietnamese Silkroad Online.
The 1.188 server files released around august 2011.
They're the most worked on among the entirety of all the server files out there.

Some people have isro and isro-r server files, however they are kept private.
Just use vSro.

why vSRO compared to the other versions? is it an older version that does not have the updated maps/monsters/quests from the newest one?

Whilst I don't discourage the idea, is there any point? After eventually setting up your server for you and said friends, won't it just ultimately be pointless? Instead of just joining elsewhere / setting up a proper server.

Because vSro is the gold standard for SRO developing and opening up a server.
Of course it's older. I'd say 99% of us use vSro files.
iSro files are not publicly released.

If my friends dont end up enjoying the game then yes it'll be pointless haha

vSRO files were released publicly?

What was the last bit of content they added to vSRO client that was around? I'm trying to figure out how far we can get in the game without modifying/editing anything

Please read my replies at the beginning of this thread.
You can modify it yourself. From making it cap 70 CH only, to 140 with Arabia and everything else in between.
