I think the problem is from your PC try to preinstal it and download the newest video drivers with all bonus components dx 9.0c etc.if u still get such a problem and you dont get it in other games then i cant help you because i was getting this problem one time and the solution was a new video card lol...

And like i said and Li after me i will say it again you guys dont need to edit using eny program for the nukes,buffs,etc...Just extract the ..._f.efp rename it to ..._a.efp or with the name at the skill you wanna replace to...its very easy
