Hey when I try to open the 3- server compile file, it just close's itself and I am unable to read the error that I get on it. Any help would be appreciated.

Fixed that problem. My ip was wrong in one of the files.

Now when I go to run the Globalmanager.exe nothing come's up in the application or half the time that doesn't even show up. I have tried restarting computer so nothing else is running in the background etc. checked the server.cfg file I think it was.

Does any1 know how to set up FTP and IIS on server 03? Please I need help. it is the only thing left b4 I get the working server.

I solved the problem, it said No DB connection, so I found a mistake at the database name in the srShard.ini. Its running well now. Its a pretty good guide!

Here is some troubleshooting answers i figured out:

SQL related:

- check if your SQL Server is allowed to accept connections via SQL-Authentification: Open SQL Management studio, connect to your server, right klick on your server > properties > Security > Set server authentification to SQL and Windows authentification

- check if your "sa" user is enabled: Connect to your SQL server > expand the Security folder > expand the Login folder > right klick on sa > you can set a new password if u like > status > set it to enabled

- for ODBC Setup you should always compare the database Names and always make sure the Test is run successfully

There are 3 possible mistakes you can do on server files setup:

- wrong IP adress in the srNodeType.ini(if its wrong the cmd window would throw the commonly posted error, check the ip and recompile)
- wrong Database names or logins - you have to make sure the srShard.ini is correctly configured - check it 5 times if needed! (the shard and the gameserver would say "No DB connection" in the log)
- wrong IP adresses in the server configuration file > use CTRL+H to replace it (global manager wont run)


I still have some questions:

Why do I need a second server to run the Alexandria part? The server is just for me and not for 1000 players.

How do I increase the exp rate? I've set Exprate in the server configuratio to 8000000 but the rate is still bad.
