If i'm comprehending LT, beta accounts will have silk so that we can test the store as well as the server in general. You probably know beta is a term used for testing, he's just looking for bugs or exploits before releasing full server.

Alpha normally in house, some betas can be open/close and sometimes need to do open beta for huge mmo games like SRO, then you release a finished product for long term with minor maintenance.
