We have been programming this emulator since dec 08 actually, and deving a whole game takes a long time no? it doesnt happen in a *click* of the fingers.
Emulators can actually be more advanced than any official server, depends on who is coding it, experience and time. They are just the same as server files they use the same methods and do the same job.
