Private Server Source Code
Previously, I have created a private server for a different MMORPG game from scratch. Literally, I have coded all the server functionalities myself.
A few months ago, I started coding a private server for Silkroad and managed to make great progress there, and it seems promising.
What do you think about having an up-to-date client and the ability to add any features for a private server? Is it worth completing this project because it will take 1+ years to have a fully functional server?

Not sure if you understand correctly but I am talking about writing the source code of a server, not just running the server files around the web.

@  , bro i think sro or psro in general is dead, it took a whole company to develop this game, starting from scratch requires a lot of time, risk to reward ratio is just too much, theres too much risk, and ur reward is almost non existant, i would focus on other games if you are a skilled coder, more up to date so u can also gain something off it and not just waste time

there’s no need to reinvent the entire Silkroad codebase. The core systems already exist, and they work. What most players (and private server owners) want today isn’t a re-engineered backend, but a modern visual and experiential refresh. - Higher-resolution textures
- Modern shaders (PBR, reflections, lighting)
- Updated character models and animations
- Dynamic weather and environments
- Scalable, responsive UI for 2K/4K monitors
- Better inventory and skill management
- Streamlined quest logs and navigation
- Improved anti-bot systems
- Smoother network sync
- Performance optimizations for modern GPUs and CPUs
- Optional Engine Porting
Instead of hard-coding a new MMO engine, Silkroad could be ported into Unreal Engine 5 or Unity HDRP as a graphical shell while keeping the original server logic intact.
👉 In short: Silkroad doesn’t need a new brain, it needs a new face.

Even that won't save it. changing the engine takes the life and nostalgia out of the game.

Don't listen to bad feedback, may there are some ppl already holding their own files.. 
I made an engine to develope silkroads worldmap. Ppl still think i am using the releases of blender. Spoiler... I don't.
And i just reached the point because i didn't listen to ppl from epvp. Sorry for all others to read it but that's the reason why you guys still remain here discussing and blaming good inspirations and demotivate good progress prolly cuz of being jealous...Took me around 6 years to make it fully working. So at some point you just need to start and stay focused...
Keep going brother.
All ppl said it's not possible unless someone came, didn't know and just did it...
