READ, Scams and cheats of private servers

Guys I've been following elitepvpers for a loooooong time and I registered an account to at least help some people to not to get scammed. Please read.

If you're reading here you're probably looking for a private server, let me explain the things here. I'll try to keep it short as much as I can.

Guys, you will always see new threads about new private servers with fancy arts and impressive(!) features, but here's the thing.

1- Most of the private servers you see here are created by same people again and again. Why? Because they create a server, people start playing because we ALL MISS SRO, people donate money, after 3-4 months, people stop playing it, and GM closes it.
2- After some months, same dudes open a new server with a new game or they call it Season 2 or Reborn to attract same or more players back. You know what happens? You again play there, donate money, when server gets empty, they close it again and they continue with Season 3-4 or new server names.
3- I've seen plenty of servers here and seriously, some of them COPY and PASTE the previous server's threads with a new website and call players again
4- 95% of the private servers GM will accept personal donations. What's that? You'll contact the guy, offer him some nice money, he'll make you the best player in the server. But wait. If he does this to you, he'd does this to anyone.
5- 99% of the server capacity, player amounts you see on private servers are FAKE lol. For example go check cobaltsro bs, their website says 10000/10000 but if you login, you'll see that theres maximum 100-200 people lol
6- All the server creator scammer gms you've seen here are making alot of money because of you and others. They believe that the new upcoming servers are nice and will be fun, however they will ALWAYS end up in a year and your money will be WASTED.

Alright I know you're saying "ok but what to do?"
Guys, when you search for a private server, first do a good research about who does that private server, check the topics in other websites. Doesnt matter if turkish or egyptian or whatever, check all the threads.

Go and check their website, look at the player total, if its too high that's probably scam and they're already mostly fake numbers. And check their PC LIMIT, IP LIMIT, some servers are indeed 6000/6000 players but PC limit is 20 lol.

There are tons of private servers and maybe 1% of them are legit, non donations.

I'm so angry and sad because SRO is f**ed up by these clowns and scammer kiddos, if admins let this post stay here, I'll try to write down all the scammer private servers and gm's names, potential scammer private servers and gm names here.

BUT I will never recommend a server to play, that would be like advertising lol.

My main point is to protect people from wasting their money in scammer servers.

i do agree with you in some points, but Roots are costing money and the only way to have stable server if you're financially stable to afford it or otherwise by player's donations or SHUTDOWN

No of course a FREE server would be impossible. What I mean is, most of them, almost all of them open the server with knowing that it they will shut it down when they get enough money. Of course I'd respect them to ask for small donations to run the server and do some profit for themselves, but this is far worse than that. They mostly accept player's moneys to give them a full 100% set to make them a beast in the game.

What's worse is, they open a server with knowing that it wont last more than 3 months, their point is to scam money as much as they can so they can run away and open another server with Season 2, Season 3 bs or REBORN lol

True. But my point is to stop people from getting scammed. I know iSRO is dead and their only option is to play private server.

What I'm trying to say is, yes it's ok to play private server BUT don't go for a private server without a research because 90% of them dont last long. And what they want is not fun, not a good gameplay. All they want it money and runaway.

It's not impossible. NGE SRO 110 CAP has been running since late 2016 - early 2017 without a single cent donated by players and yet the server is empty. People don't play there. It's like they want to pay???? They don't like having to actually PLAY to earn things. They want to take the easy way out by "donating" for items.

Now the GM has created a new server based on old files and 60 cap. Again, no donation. There are a few players but nothing major. Probably due to lack of promotion.

$100-200/month for a root is not much for someone from western Europe or the USA. People who earn $3-5-10k/month.

But why are people from egypt trying to create servers? They can barely afford to eat, that's why they have to rely on donations. But if you must do that then the server is doomed from the start. What happens if everyone stops paying? Of course it shuts down. There's no other way with a singular source of "income".

The real problem is that everyone and their dog wants to be a server owner or GM and such the "market" is flooded with trash and filth. We should have only allowed 5-10 servers to exist and that's it. Instead we have 200k of them. If we divide the number of players to the number of servers, the result will be way less than 1 and that's just stupid imo.

Look at joymax in their glory days: 30 servers and 150k+ players. Just being able to login was an amazing feat and it gave the whole thing some meaning imo. You didn't even have to grind or anything. Just being online had value. It was special. Finally seeing your character after heaving left something heavy on the enter key all day.

The scene died years ago, many of the current 'developers' are only here to scrounge the remaining money off of the last few dedicated p-server players.

Open server with same features as previous -> Call it Season 2 / Reborn / ******* anything v2 -> collect donations for a few weeks -> this part is important, make sure you lock SoX items until a few weeks after the server is open. Not only does this prolong donations, but we can mask it as "extending server life". -> By this point, donators will already rule the server. WTS 300 silk 400b. WTS +15 sun item 3 days after server started. It's boring, and developers must be blinded by the $$$ to realize that all of the smart, non donators don't want to join their ****. But until you, the consumer, put a dent in their pockets by simply not joining, you're simply helping them keep it afloat.

For the guy who said "I think you dont know how much it cost to protect a server", believe me I know. But read my post again bro.

In private servers, it's ok to ask donations and sell silks etc.

Now read here CAREFULLY.
In private servers, once the server is open, GM's open different chars and they sell some great items, golds, special stuff in global chat and they pretend to be a player. And they sell those stuff for real money.
Think about it? I'm a GM, I open a server, I create a char and send a global "WTS 100% stats spear +10" etc "for real money" and it gets sold asap.

Again, it's ok to ask for donations, creating a server costs money but being a scammer, cheater is not cool and I hate it when it involves with Silkroad.

I hope people will read this post and they will think twice before playing a private server.

As someone that has been here for a REALLY long time, I always suggest people NEVER to get to attached to a server. Anyone that defends a server too much is set for disappointment when something truly big happens

SRO is not dead but the Private Server scene is not the best to look at when it comes to "transparency"

And yes here's another story.

Guilds get paid to play for private servers to make them look full in the beginning so people would pay $$$. However after some time, those paid guilds leave the game then the server starts to die.

I recommend everyone to read this althought its a bit long, it will worth it.
It explains, in private servers, guilds get paid to join the servers to make them look active.



Truth is, there is no private server more than actual 500 online users.

For a GM, if 100 people donates, they're good to run away.


If it's ok I can even list all the scammer servers down here.
I'm not sure if it's ok for admins.

But for example the Cob**t Online new sro is made by a scammer gm who scammed tons of people before and re-opens new servers again and again.
Same for Ruby, the creators of Cronos.

Most of the popular servers you know are the scammers.
They want you to feel like you're going to play in a long lasting server with their paid guilds, their own fake goldbots, their own fake party matches and their own fake char globals, fake activities, so you'd say "oh it looks good so I should donate here!"

I'm a very passionate Silkroad player and it makes me so sad to see this game turns to a scammer market by kiddos and cheater shitheads.

and this is why i made a server on my own with some help of friends :-) host paid for 5 years and let's go have some fun and no stress on all those fake servers.
