Specific questions/doubts about hosting and editing a private server

Hello.

First of all, let me say I've already searched and found many tutorials here on how to create a private silkroad server. Although many of them are really useful, I still have some specific questions before I even try to create a server, so I was hoping someone could help me on getting the answers.

Well, I am an old Silkroad player (well I guess everyone here is, hahah), so If I were to create a server, I would like to modify some things on the game, to make it more interesting and nice to play.

So, my first question is: what is the complexity on editing Silkroad gameplay? I mean exp/drop rates, quests rewards or so... Do I need to master some programming language or is it possible to just edit the data files with some tool?

Second: By the videos I've watched, to create the server I need to configure the silkroad database on a windows server, so my question is: do I need to own a machine that will be running 24/7 or can I pay monthly for some cloud server? How will I configure the silkroad database on such server? (apologize I don't know sh't about these things)

And third: How can I create an anti-bot protection for the server? Do I need to develop a guard system by my own or are there already server files with these protections?

1. You can easy edit if you know what for a table main rates are in server.cfg and yes here some tools can do it but never trust a tool 100% can be bug you database if any query wrong !!

2. No im 100% sure will not work you dont have the protection also better is buy dedicated and some root server example i have 1 dedicated for silkroad server and filter 1x Root Server for SQL Server 1x Root Server for Website

3.You can buy a srofilter or use a free but you have not much place also max connect by free filter 50-100 ip Connection

1 small tip first learn 1 year and look how everything is structured and some things to edit

what the point of using separate servers for web-sql-server files ?

as a start you can use only 1 virtual server (virtual one not dedicated) and use a free filter it's just a kind of testing

Also for every root server i pay 40,99 Euro
and for the dedicated server i pay 449,82 Euro
also around 550 euro per month

a sro filter is Protection ingame and give some features

the dedicated costs 450 and have 24 core and 64gb ram and good protection + unlimited traffic + windows server license and co its a good price

But I guess its the price to pay for a really great server...

By they way guys... Which is the best sro files for creating a no-bot server? Is there any version that would be better to use (that already has some anti-bot system) orI could use any files?
