Does anyone know?
Does anyone know who the last owner Arcane online was,the lv140 cap server with upgradable items and etc.
For a time now I have been interested in opening a server and what I tought of was that I'd be doing it like Arcane server was configed.
I honestly have no idea how to manage a database or how edit a client a those things altough I played Silkroad Online since 2006 and know every inch of the map and inside gaming(bug dupes etc etc).
So I am asking if anyone know the previous owner because I am interested in buying the server files from him.
And also if any of you could tell me what the costs are for managing a server?Buying host getting the necesary protection setting up a donation page all those necesary things.
And if I do so I will support the server with an active event guide and the necessary money to keep it online.
Thnaks in advance for yor anwsers(altough knowing this comunity most of them would be spamm or some nonsense english)

To have a decent server, you must have decent server files/database with no bugs and good features that can attract people. You also must have a good player base waiting for your server aka hyped-up people, through advertisements and teasers.
As for technical specs, you can get a dedicated server from either OVH or Hetzner, and of course a reliable ddos protection such as hyperfilter or blacklotus. I recommend a hetzner dedicated server+hyperfilter proxy combination, or you can get a hyperfilter dedicated server which is a bit more expensive. Any processor starting from Xeon will be enough, 16gb of rams are enough, 100mbps port is enough, a normal hard disk is fine but getting an SSD is even better. Of course you're going to need Windows Server setup which will cost extra.
You're also going to need some sort of exploit protection (either make one yourself or buy a ready-to-go one from the SRO black market section).
You might need to pay a web coder/designer to make the web pages and the GFX work.

Adding to what Zodiao said,
here is the facebook they used.
Go down 3 posts or something and you'll see that he wants to sell the files for $1k I think.
Hope I helped.

i strongly agree with you in everything.
but my try with hetzner was so bad, so i suggest to buy hyperfilter dedicated server, all of HP dedicated servers are protected. so you don't need proxy. there is no huge difference the price.

Never worked with hyperfilter/blacklotus.
Get out of the circle man! Don't buy what everyone does... Maybe out there,
in the huge web, there is a cheaper/better option?
Research *** **** it

Buy what everyone does? I don't think there is anybody with a SRO server that uses blacklotus. I'm talking out of experience, not following anybody's steps.
As per the advice I just gave him, it's easy for you to try other protection providers when you already have your own player-base and/or when you're not susceptible to attacks. You basically got nothing to lose if your server went down for some time or had some temporary lag. But when it comes to new servers, the first impression will always decide whether this server is surviving or dying, so I always encourage people to stop being cheap and get the reliable service even if it costs them extra.
As far as I know, Hyperfilter and blacklotus have real-time mitigation. I have searched for other protection providers, and most of them simply disconnect all the users in case of an attack and switch to "mitigation mode", which is not ideal for SRO servers, because disconnecting = downtime = players raging.
If you're talking about the company you're dealing with :
Care to tell us how much does that "RioRey special device" cost?

Well, firstly i didn't tell these stuff to you - i was telling to OP over what you said.
When hyperfilter was first founded, or started getting popular only user of it was PlaySro. By that time our server was full and getting ddosed too badly, playsro said 'were not ddosing' but it was either them or Hyperfilter(to sell products). Those were the times that we earned really good but never worked with hyperfilter or even with ovh/hetzner.
The best mitigation we worked with was CNSERVERS (even heard of it?) But it was in Oregon so we obviously couldn't stay too long. Then Atomix owner Mhyka adviced us about incloudibly, which was the best mitigation in eu we ever tried but was a bit expensive.
Serverloft, incero, javapipe, hostkey and many others... what im tryna tell is: you get experience by getting through these...
Again, the main idea of my post is for OP, not you...
And Redstation is a really nice company performance/price/support wise. Just not good with ddoses. We own a gigantic host there for like 2 years. I would recommend. ^^
The RioRey was something like 30k 40k pounds if im right xD
And all the protections were real-time. Actually never saw any mitigation that takes long enough to DC players.

you still believe a hosting services provider will really keep monitoring stupid private servers to attack them to sell services ? that might sound good, but only to stupid people that can't work in something or doesn't have a real job lolz
so blacklotus, akamai, prolexic, hyperfilter, etc, only exist because they damage people ? great concept, perfect lol.

the one i sent was purely a joke, since all what i read was purely hilarious, with all the "conspiracy theories", indeed playsro could be ddosing servers, anyone can ******* rent a booter account, or multiple and start causing hassle in no time, everything else is just too stupid to my brain be capable of processing.
wait... i just thought that all the antiviruses companies exist, because they've built viruses to everyone get infected and get computer ****** out, so you can get the antivirus to solve it .... ("another yet conspiracy theory, yes, thanks").
