It's alive but people choose "Perfect" servers only since they have played many servers and all of them closed in no time, So, if you can open a server with special/new features that has never been made, you would get a good playerbase.
People are never staying in one server for a long time. There's always same guilds I see on every new server that is opening. I'm a part of a guild which plays on new hyped servers until there comes another new hyped server. There is no long time commitment cause every server simply gets boring after some time spent in it. Every server lack true fun endgame content.

I've quit SRO a relatively long time ago, but I guess some part of me misses it, so here I am.
My most important question would be, what servers count as popular nowadays? I mean is there any server with ~500+ active players?
I tried to do some research, but I could not really find any server that meets that one easy criteria.
I'd be interested in the current state of PSRO in general too. So if you have anything on this I'd appreciate if you could give me your 2 cents.

Psro Open... 05/05/2008 - SRO Private Server - 30 Replies The arrangements for the Ocean's new private SRO server are nearly finished.
Our teammember will undertake the last tests next weekend.
If everything work smoothly the server will open on Monday (April the 21st).
