As I said, ress is the most important thing, without ress nobody won fortress war yet.
If you haven't enough dmg to kill with criticals players, your job in fw is kb them with arrow combo and debuffs. You can also heal yourself or other team members.
In ice you wouldn't tank hits with mana shield cause you won't have enough mana to handle this, also it's just an useful passive and protection.
Cold is may just more useful if in server you have skills from sro-r, mean chinese holy.
