I guess when mail.ru gave \ sold this project to Digital Worlds J.S.C. they knew about end of rsro from joymax
And from now 2 months and rsro will be closed.

Other than that I see no real advantages for the customer, other than that they require lesser hardware and can play anywhere at any time (even though that's not really an issue with steam/origin). In the end one company will be in charge of every game you will buy, and as you can guess that can not really end that well

They only have a license to publish it. When JoyMax ends this contract, they lose their license and therefore also their right to publish it.

It doesn't work like that. Its not up to joymax to end the contract whenever it want (Unless something against the contract conditions occurred), Lets say Rsro paid for a 2 years contract then they have the right to complete the full 2 years after that if they are still interested in the game joymax chooses either they renew or not. I believe that it is just Rsro dont want to renew their contract.

The only reason for rSRO not renewing the contract would be that they are not getting money from it, and I doubt that's the case:
 (remove the space)
Their servers are in a good population status, I'm sure their income is good enough. It seems like a Joymax decision.

That indeed is %100 right, however the contract might include something like "Joymax can end the contract whenever they want to" In that case rSro would have to end it. But that is very unlikely... I would doubt such a thing would happen.

Their income might be good enough but you missed three important points first there is multi accounts and botting so these server capacity status doesn't mean anything and also you forget the contract renewal cost and they are a local server not global, So lets say they are making around 200k$ per year and the contract is 100k$, I dont see it worth it at all since there is other expenses. Plus we all see how much Isro is suffering can you imagine how a local server will suffer.

I wouldn't say i am 100% sure that what i said is the case but i highly believe it is, But they have to find the cool way out of this so they came up with the whole "Joymax updates thing", It maybe turns out to be true but still that is not the REAL reason behind their termination.

Yea but only if something against the conditions the publisher did otherwise joymax will have to pay a cancellation fee if the cancellation was for no reason.

Please supply the contract you're speaking so detailed of, including the fee they have to pay.
I guess the contract simply ran out. And instead of taking the risk of the newer server files being leaked, they simply avoided the renewal of the contract.

Exactly plus i would like to add that Korea and Japan is the homeland of gaming world so i am pretty sure that SRO is just a old page there.

09/27/2009 - Silkroad Online - 8 Replies
We are sorry for the inconvenience that you are experiencing. We are trying our very best to make the game accessible and enjoyable for everyone. Every week, we conduct server inspections specifically for this purpose. Additionally, we also conduct emergency inspections whenever the need arises. The massive bot ban which occured recently does not mark the end of our campaign towards a bot-free Silkroad. Thank you very much for understanding.
