it is pretty cheap if you ask me
however, try to check how trusted the hosting service is
it may be cheap, but that doesnt mean they have the best support

Are you guys like mentally retarded or something, it's not a good price, you can get the original server for 1/3th the price by just buying from the datacenter itself than of getting scammed by some retarded reseller

First of all the CPU isn't even the same one on the datacenter.Second, you assume that everyone speaks french? I would gladly pay some extra bucks just to get a server from a website which i understand clearly.

The cpu is exactly the same, there is no intel i7 cpu with 8 cores, so it is just the amount of threads. Exactly the same as the kimsufi one. Kimsufi offers english support too, check their irish website:
Do some research before you waste your money on something like this

Yes there is 8 cores but 4 is physical and 4 is logical, it's called hyperthreading.
Okay thanks for providing us the irish website, i have to agree that it was kinda cheap, even at Link117's post.

hence I said threads. Hyperthreading on intel quad core cpus makes 8 threads usable by the OS for a cpu with 4 cores, you can not call them cores because they are not physically there. You shouldn't really be telling me this, I've been in the industry long enough
Also note that there are no 4 logical cores, it is just 2 threads (one real, one logical) per 1 real core. It's not like they put some extra fake cores on the die.
OT: Just order with kimsufi/ovh itself, a reseller is just a stupid idea because they are limited by total bandwith, and they can disappear with your money at any time. Only use them if you can't use kimsufi because you don't have a credit card, I don't see another reason to use a reseller really

And OVH requests your personal information (passaport, id card etc.). Maybe there's a reseller which doesn't request?

I've been in the bransch long enough to know what i'm talking about, but this e-***** thing is just ridiculous. I would call them cores but logical cores isn't recommended since they are using more cache than physical. But enough about that, let's not go off-topic here. This discussion is closed.

If you would be in the branch that long you would know how to write it. I am just responding to your attempt to correct me, which I do not like. I wrote threads which is correct, and you wanted to correct me by saying 'cores', which is not true at all. I also have no idea what you are saying about cache, that has really nothing to do with it. Hyperthreading was just invented to solve one of the issues of a synchronous cpu design. You can not call them cores, since they are simply not cores. You also don't have the right to close this thread, only a moderator (or higher can do that).
Don't think I say this to lengthen my e-peen, it's already long enough. I just don't like people that think they know everything, and correct people who clearly know more about it. That's just wrong.

That's right, ovh requests your phone number (and they verify it!) and in some cases your passport. It's true, some people might not like it. But of course if you are doing 100% legal stuff, there is no real reason to be afraid of it, right?
