Thanks for the nice tutorial and your hard work, but i got 1 problem(untill now..). When i made the shortcut and modified it's target, it gives me the following error: "The name '[Target]' specified in the Target box is not valid. Make sure the path and file name are correct.", even though the path and and file names are correct. Pls help, and thx to all who will try to help

3d accel and directx are supported in ver 7.0.1+ its part of vmware tools now to have 3d acceleration. So you need newest version of vmware. A bit slow on my comp but i fooled a round with a few settings and got it to work fairly well ie gave it 1gig ram made a perm swap file in the vm plus if you use hide client it runs much better to but it runs it fast enough to use ibot with it for me at least.
The 3d accel. support gets better with every new version to so can only get better.

ie you need to press logout button in ibot and let it log you out then close ibot using force exit button then sro should load without it.

I think u miss understood me my problem is that when i hit the run client button nothing happens. So no Sro start and i cant do something.

i gave up on this bot because ive looked every forum and all he does is say look ym guide well im getting an error when i try start the bot to run with bunch weird letters and then error saying pack file open failure so if anyhow has fix im glad hear it otherwise this bot is just another peice garbage

what is your pc config .. my pc p4 2600mhz 1gb ram gforce fx 128mb video .. do you think it will work for me ? cuz only with 1 silk i have pf usage 1.13gb

I don't think 1gig ram is enough to run both your host os with sro and a vm at same time in fact prob not even enough to run 2 instances of sro at same time is it? vm's use cpu as far as i know for video rendering not your vid card so the vid card is prob fine but you need more ram. Not sure if p4 is enough either i have a quad core but i know dual core would work. I have 8 gig ram btw. I give the vm 1 gig ram and gave the vm 25gig size although thats not all used i have other game installed as well that i use it for sometimes.

Did you open the file srodir.ini in the ibot folder and set path to sro in it?
it should read something like
C:\\Program Files\\Silkroad\\
note the double \\.
