Softmod+iSrobot FAQ!

Due to the HUGE amount of spammy questions, i decided to put together this uber FAQ

Q:i get the c8/c9 connection error!
A: go to c:/windows/system32/drivers/etc/ and open the hosts file. Either remove OR add a # infront of the line 127.0.0.1 gwgt1.joymax. Your host file should now look similar to this:

127.0.0.1 localhost

Q:i get the client corrupt error!
A: this is caused by 3 possible reasons:
1)you didnt update sro to the latest version before you patched with softmod
2)you extracted softmod with an old version of winrar (v3.52 above required)
3)you dont have .net 2 framework installed (go download it from microsoft)

Q:the "auto training" button on the bot is greyed out!
A: you either havent put softmod2.dll in your sro folder, or your using the wrong version of isrobot. ALWAYS use the version stated on the download thread.

Q:the bot doesnt store/sell my stuff!
A: make sure you set up your item filter properly, pressing "save edit" + "add filter" after any changes you make. ALSO make sure you have the option "auto store items" ticked.

Q:the bot doesnt heal my wolf!
A: dont use X-large pet potions, use plain large ones, as the X-large dont work with the bot

Q:the bot doesnt start silkroad!
A: this happens sometimes, if after closing the sro_client.exe in task manager and restarting sro doesnt work, try another version of softmod (NOT AN OUTDATED VERSION, a "fixed" version or slightly older version)

If you still have questions/trouble with srobot, head over and see if anything there fixes your problems. If not, go to the isrobot + softmod support thread ()and post a detailed description of your problem, and you will find help.

uhh when i start my gun my bot will work sometimes and then will just automatically stop detecting my skills and will not do anything.. please help

what do you mean? the bot doesnt list your new skills? be more specific plz.

hmm everything runs smoothly i get to the log in screen i choose my char then its loading and ill get a message from microsoft saying

"sro_client.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."


then i get kicked off..

and OMG!! u read another guys post? cry me a river, does it look like this thread is named "silkroad 101 all problems FAQ"?Frequently Asked Questions, not "Answer questions for all those ****tards who cant read/search". And the new softmod error IS a version related error, why do you think certain versions work for some people but not others?

IF YOU CAN MAKE A BETTER GUIDE/ MINI FAQ, than you have a right to accuse me of being useless. Until then, you can go get F in the A, because nobody wants to listen to your lil fussy.
