Well, i decided to make a new one.
sorry i made a second thread about this tutorial.
uhm.
i found a new of pk2 editing ur weapon..
when editing using a hex editor, ur edited weapon will return to normal everytime joymax patch their media.pk2/add a new item. but with this way, the item u edited will remain that way until u decided to return it to nomal.
so here it is..
For example I want to edit my 5th degree spear to 8th degree spear.
first u need the Pk2 tools by drew benton of 0x33
Pk2 Extractor and Pk2 Editor
Step 1:
Run Pk2 Extractor
Step 2:
Open Data.pk2
Step3:
Once, data.pk2 is opened find "res" and expand it.
then expand "item" ---> "china"---> "weapon"
Step4:
then find spear_05.bsr and spear_08.bsr and extract them.
a notice will say that the extraction is a success
Step5:
close the pk2 extractor and go to ur pk2 tools folder.
there u will find a folder name "Data"/
then, open data folder then res-->item-->china-->weapon.
in the weapon folder, u will find the two extracted .bsr's.
Cut spear_08.bsr and paste it anywhere in ur hard disk.
(that will serve as your back up)
then rename spear_05.bsr to spear_08.bsr.
Step6:
Run pk2 editor
Step7:
Open Data.pk2
Step8:
In the automatic single file update click on select file and open
data/res/item/china/weapon
Step9:
select spear_08.bsr
and hit OK.
Step 10:
After pressing OK.
Hit Import
A notice will tell you that the import is successful.
and you're done..
u can now play silkroad..
Here's the result:
Changing the ICON of the weapon.
Changing the icon of the weapon and editing the way it looks is just the same.
Step:1
Run pk2 extractor
Step2:
Open media.pk2
Step3:
expand "icon"
Step4:
then expand item-->china-->weapon
Step5:
extract spear_05.ddj and spear_08.ddj
Step:6
In the pk2 tools folder u will find a folder named "Media"
do the same as what u did in editing ur weapon.
go inside media/icon/item/china/weapon/
Step7:
Cut spear_08.ddj and paste it somewhere else.
(of course that will serve as your backup)
Step8:
Rename spear_05.ddj to spear_08.ddj
Step9:
Run Pk2 editor
Step10:
Open media.pk2
Step11:
Do the same as what you did in importing your renamed spear_08.bsr when u edit ur weapon.
Thats all.
Restoring
restoring is done when u want to return the weapon's looks to normal.
Step1:
Copy and paste ur back up(which is the original spear_08.bsr that u CUT and paste somewhere in ur hard disk)
Step2:
Paste it back to its original folder(pk2 tools/data/res/item/china/weapon)
Step3:
Import it using Pk2 extractor.
solution to "2 files were detected error".
This occurs when u edit weapon with the same name as european weapon..
for example the shield(there's a euro one and a chinese one)..
so u need to import the file manually.
Step1:
Open Pk2Editor
Step2:
On the "manual single file import".
browse for the renamed .bsr/.ddj file.
Step3:
On the Entry name: type the name of the file.
for example: shield_08.bsr
Step4:
On the Entry Path: type the path where the file will be imported.
for example: res/item/china/shield/
Step5:
Press import!
and your done..
check on the notice if the importing is successful.
thats all!!
