Hello everyone, I need help
I want to edit multilingual text such as textdata_object, textdata_equip&skill, etc
May I ask which text editor I should use to quickly and error free edit multilingual text

I recommend to use SublimeText with "show_encoding" setting enabled, so you all time knows you're under UTF16 LE with BOM when editing those files.

Once you have above covered, you can just use Google Sheets and just copy paste in both directions.. By the way, I left a with all texts translated made for the project.

Common files:
- textdata_object.txt
- textdata_equip&skill.txt
- textdata_item.txt
- textdata_character.txt

These files contain multiple languages (Korean, English, Chinese), separated by tabs (Tab-separated values).


File Format:
- Columns are separated by tabs (\t)
- Original encoding: UTF-16LE
- Wrong encoding will break the text and cause “????” symbols.


Recommended Editors:

Notepad++
- Supports UTF-16LE
- Fast and easy for quick edits
- Steps:
1. Open the file
2. Menu → Encoding → Encode in UTF-16 LE
3. View → Show Symbol → Show All Characters (optional)
4. Save → Make sure encoding stays UTF-16 LE
Do NOT open with Excel! It breaks the tab layout.
EmEditor (Best choice for large files)
- Handles huge text files easily
- Supports UTF-16 and tabular editing
- Lets you view and edit by columns like Excel, but without corruption

Use EmEditor if you edit 10,000+ lines or want professional stability.

Visual Studio Code (VSCode)
- Works with UTF-16LE (requires setting)
- Good for quick translation and comparing versions
- Recommended extensions:
- “Edit CSV”
- “Rainbow CSV” (colorized columns)
→ Use “File → Reopen with Encoding → UTF-16 LE” before editing


Tips:
- Always keep the same number of columns.
- Don’t open in Excel or Google Sheets.
- Use a diff tool (like WinMerge) to compare before and after edits.
- Save as UTF-16LE every time.

To translate `textdata_equip&skill.txt`:
1. Open in EmEditor.
2. Locate the column with English text.
3. Replace with your translation.
4. Save the file (UTF-16LE, tabs intact).
