Silkroad - Raytraced Graphics [RTX Remix]

Hi all,

I've been playing around lately with RTX Remix and injecting it into Silkroad Online. The results are quite promising, yet there is still a lot of work to do. See the two videos down below:

Since I am a 3D Artist and not really a programmer, I was curious if devs are interested in helping developing the implementation of RTX Remix further inside of Silkroad Online. The problem I am facing in particular is that RTX Remix does not quite understand the way landscape is built up, since it has layers, blending and baked lighting. The result I am getting so far is the following:

Hello im the guy from yt comment. Bro im following ur works for almost 2 years. You making "dream come true" moment. I think this started to get REAL with your last videos. Anyway the reason i write firstly conguratz for what u done and doing. And i would like to help this project as a graphic designer in my free time. Can we turn this project a real one without copyright danger?

Thanks for your support. with RTX Remix there is no such thing per se, since we are modding the existing client by overriding the Directx9.0c with RTX Remix. This is more like an visual graphics add-on than recreating the game.

What kind of optimization problems we are talking about? I see two main problems with sro. The first one is when it wants to load a new character item it does it from the hard drive, and it doesn't preload things like avatars etc. to RAM while loading which causes stutter especially when you're using HDD instead of SSD.

The second is that it utilizes only a single core and when there are too much players, that's not enough, so no matter how good your graphic card is, you get low FPS. Sadly single core performance of modern CPU's aren't that good and I don't see there will be an improvement with time.

RTX Remix utilizes the power of the GPU so it won't make the performance of the SRO worse than before. I see no reason to worry.

Not that much work, it's all standing out there on nvidia repositories:


I've played around with this when It was very early, they already did projects like upscaled portal etc.

Good job on the texture work though, it looks nice.

Yes, and with the current integration with the RTX Remix software NVIDIA released, it lets you easily customize stuff. In this case I fully replaced the lighting & textures. I am using a vsro based server client for this test. Didn't have different results with the most up-to-date iSRO(-R) client.

You have to tweak the sky settings, I will send a screenshot how to do so later in the Discord channel.
