But
it has to meet some standards. You can take my post to somewhere else,
but please do not refer that it was made by you. Just simply credit
goes to bnbn1382 or created by bnbn1382 etc.. or this site.. since we
need expansion.
-------------------------------------
Requirements:
Windows XP
or
Windows Vista
--------------------------------------
I will start with yes or no and go by step my step.
--------------------------------------
First Check if you have at least 50 Gigabytes available, for your hard drive.
(Click
on the windows logo at bottom left, Locate Computer then click on it.
Something will pop up, and RIGHT CLICK on Local Disk (C
properties. There you will see them.
If
you do not have that much, please make more rooms as possible. ( Google
it. I am too lazy to post all the possible ways. There are too many.
[Defragmentation Recommended]
Lets Proceed if you at least have 40 Gig (50 or more recommended)
--------------------------------------
Check
Total Ram. (Not when you first boot, because mine is 4.2 GB ram, but
only runs 3. something GB ram on Vista (max for my comp can take)
Recommendation: Windows Vista: 3~4GB RAM // Windows XP: 1~2GB RAM (Yeah Vista takes a lot)
Minimum
Requirement: Windows Vista: 2 GB RAM // Windows XP: 800 MEG RAM
(Somewhere like that)(I am not sure if 500 MEG Ram works/ But you can
try, But lower than that ROFL.. no way)
If
you do not meet minimum, please go buy one. I just went yesterday, they
were like 9.99 for a 1gig stick for laptop. ( I bought for like 60
something dollars for two 2 GIG ram sticks )
How to check Ram:
1. Goto Control Panel
2. Click Classic View
3. Then Click on System
4. Locate RAM or similar to that, and there you go.
----------------------------------------
If
you meet Recommendation, you should run Soldier Front fine. But if the
SF lags constantely, just follow minimum Requirment speed fix
steps.(usually it is whole people in the map lagging, ask them, or
sometimes just you lag for no reason)
If you meet minimum Requirements, follow these steps.
I posted picture so just follow that.
But first, close almost everything on your bottom right icons.
Usually Messengers and anti-viruses take the most ram away. (side bars take a lot too)
But I would not close anti-viruses unless* there are multiples running. (ESET Nod32 is the best)
--
Only for Vista...->
When you are in task manager, click on Performance tab.
For
Vista, it should show Memory right away, and make sure you lower it to
900 MEG if possible.(for 2GB ram runners) But I will teach you how to.
CLICK ON THAT, and goto memory tab.
At bottom there it says Resource Monitor.
See
what takes most, and close them through task manager in process tab.
But please do not close ones that you are not sure, or it will
definetly crash your computer.
----------------------------------------
After
you have done that, (Vista users) change your theme to Windows Classic.
(YOu will see about 200 meg drop)( I am busy so you search howto)
----------------------------------------
For
all XP and vista users, when you are in SF homepage, and click Play
live, then click Start of course. But there is a different thing you
have todo. when you do that, close all your Firefox / Opera / Safari /
Internet Explorer / Chrome. No, you will not be disconnected from
Soldier Front, But yes, it lowers your Ram really a lot.
----------------------------------------
If it still lags you (or you think it is) in the game, see if my guess is right.
-
The screen keeps on getting messed up when playing. It flickers and the
map does not look correctly. That means that you have really really old
Video Card and you need to go buy them. (It prob dont lag you though,
but annoying looks on your screen)
----------------------------------------
Do not leave yet. There is a final step, to increase your speed of playing Soldier Front.
If
you still want to optimize more and create SF run faster, go in to the
actual game, and go to option for changing your settings for volume,
keys etc. I do not know which tab, but there is like resolution or
something that has 32-bit or 16-bit. Choose 16 bit, and save or
confirm. THe screen when you are playing, might look a little more
fake, but it will improve your speed of SF. (This works effectively to
people with old Video Cards)
HOPE THIS TUT WORKED FOR YOU
