Sound Guide

I can hear you

(Warning: This guide is not mine, it's from "Spam Up" from SF central look up this website for the original copy )

Do you ever wonder how the player knows that you are running up behind them? Well this short guide is all about the sounds you make while playing. Yes all the sounds. The main sounds as most people should know are:
Footsteps
Gun Fire
Radio Commands
All of these sounds can be a great advantage to you if you know how to understand them. Lucky for you this guide will teach you all you need to know about the in game sounds.

(Follow the colors to find that subject)

Footsteps
Footsteps are great for working out how far a enemy is from you and great for working out what way they are coming form. Everyone makes footsteps while running along bit they can be hidden by walk and crouch walking.

So then how do you use all these footsteps to your advantage? Well its simple really, different terrains make different sounding footsteps when ran on, If you can work out all the different terrains on the map you are playing and work out where they all are, you will be able to listen to footsteps and tell where that enemy is located by the sound of his footsteps.

Footsteps can tell me where the enemy is but how does it tell me how near they are? Well again very simple, Footsteps get louder as the enemy gets closer and they get quieter as the enemy moves further away.

Ok footsteps can tell me where they are and how near they are but how does it let me know how many enemies there are. Guess what? It’s very simple. You can tell how many enemies are near my the amount of footsteps you can hear, If you hear lots of footsteps you know there is more than one enemy there but if its only one set of footprints you know that there is only one enemy.

Gun Fire
Gun fire, you can’t go a game without it. Its loud and there is allot of it surely this can’t help you in any way at all, well your wrong gunfire has many usages that not that many people think of like helping you sneak up on people and locating the enemy.

So how does gunfire help you sneak up on people? Well as normal it is very simple. You want to get behind the enemy as fast as you can while making as little noise as possible to stop him from hearing you coming and gunfire is one of the best ways to do it. Sneak along crouching or walking and when you hear gunfire simply run for it. he will not be able to hear your footsteps as they will be covered my the gunfire sounds, then when the gunfire stops go back to crouch walking. Do this until you get a clear shot on the enemy.

Right it works well for sneaking but how will it help me locate the enemy? Dun dun dun, it’s simple. When you shoot a gun the end of the gun flashes with a small explosion and if you have good eyes you can lock straight into that flash and have the enemy insight. Also when a gun is fired inside a building with metal floors and walls the gunshots will echo so it tells you where the enemy is.

Radio commands
Radio commands are commands from others in your team. One of the most commonly know radio command is “fire in the hole” this tells you that one of your teams has thrown a grenade so be careful. You can find full list of radio commands on our Radio Command Guide.
One thing you to remember when using sounds is that your team mates also make sounds so make sure you listen to the correct sounds or you might end up sneaking up on your team members

many professional soldierfront players use this guide to know where enemies will go, btw, i recommend using a headphone and a good sound system to do this guide.
