1. Random Crashes
When you start playing, before you start playing, when your selecting a game room, going to the inventory it suddenly gives you an error message and when you click on it, it closes Special Forces. Please try this:
Note: This fix is written for the default view in Windows XP
1. click on start > control panel > Double-click ADD/remove programs > and then Uninstall Special Forces
2. Delete this folder >>> C:\Program Files\Dragonfly
NOTE: This step is only applicable if you installed SF in your C: Drive. If you installed SF
and changed the directory, please go to the directory where you installed SF. Example: Z:\Program
files\fps games\Special Force Philippines\Dragonfly
3. Restart your PC
4. Re-download the sf client
5. Download the Manual Patch
6. Install the sf client
7. Unzip the Manual Patch, and then copy the contents of the folder to C:\Program Files\Dragonfly\Special Force
NOTE: This step is only applicable if you installed SF in your C: Drive. If you installed SF
and changed the directory, please go to the directory where you installed SF. Example: Z:\Program
files\fps games\Special Force Philippines and paste the files there!
2. SF file download corrupted or missing files
This is due to an incomplete download. Eventhough you have downloaded the installer and/or patch multiple times already and saw that your monitor said "Download Complete", sometimes it really is not. The data sometimes get lost while it is being transferred, and this is a very known issue in the internet but there is a way to prevent this.
You can use a Download Manager also known as a Download Accelerator and allow it to manage all of your downloads. Read the Reviews first and of-course after downloading a file from the Internet always use an anti-virus scanner before running it!
NOTE! There are is no best-download-manager out there. My suggestion is for you to use google and search for what you think is best for you.

4. SF Graphics corrupted
Explanation:
(1) This is due to a corrupt installation either of the Game Client or the patch (mostly due to people using Auto-Patching). Right after MyGame releass a patch thousands of players auto-patch their clients at almost the same time, and that is why most players that use auto-patching would receive/download a corrupt patch file.
(2) Also, another possible cause of SF looking like this, specially for first time installations is the possibility of a video card that is below the sys. requirements of SF.
fixes:
(1) a. Reinstall SF,
b. then delete C:\Program Files\Dragonfly.
c. After that restart your Computer.
d. Download the full client, the cumulative patch and the latest patch
NOTE: If possible use any Download Managers to prevent another corrupt download.
e. Install the Cfull client and then,
f. Unzip the cumulative patch to C:\Program Files\Dragonfly\Special Force
NOTE: C:\Program Files\Dragonfly\Special Force is the default installation path.
If you changed the installation path please unzip the folder there.
If you forgot where you the SF's root directory is, right-click on the Shortcut icon on the desktop,
and go to properties, then click on find target (for XP)
g. Repeat step f for the latest patch
h. Run the Game.
5. Computer Restarts when playing SF
This post tackles about the issue of computers restarting when attempting to play SF. This is commonly due to a computers that did not met the minimum requirement of SF. This issue is not limited to SF only. This also happens for other games that have a higher specification than what you have in your computer.
Example: Your PC has 256mb ram. SF's minimum requirement is 256mb but you are using a built-in video card. When you double-click on the shortcut for SF, your computer automatically knows that the game needs 256MB of memory but it also require to have 128MB of Video Card Memory to process the graphics. Your computer will borrow 128MB from your computer's memory which is 256MB. SO, 256MB - 128MB = 128MB. Therefore, you are not meeting the minimum requirements for the game. Your computer knows this and the processor which pass a command to allow your computer to borrow a virtual page file (also known as Virtual Memory) from the Hardrive. The processor works double-time to may the Hardrives metal plate to spin around to continiously procedure the page file. As your processor works like a horse, it generates heat. Your motherboard notices this heat is too hot for the processor. Please take note all motherboards (aka mobo or moboS) have a heat sensor or threshold to detect processor heat. If the processor's heat reaches it's limit it will restart the computer to cool down.
And that is the reason why game developers put in a minimum requirement and a system requirment. The minimum requirement gives people the idea for low the game can go, and what they need to have to play the game in a more stable environment.
What is the FIX? Well, one and the most obvious is to upgrade your computers. Think of this guys... You can rent a computer for 15-20php per hour and you play 12hrs everyday??? wow! and you play everyday??? (wow addict!) !!! Multiple 15 or 20 pesos to 12 then multiple it again to 7 that is 1260-1680 pesos already! wow diba?
Think about it, nowadays how much is a video card or a memory upgrade? think about it. You always complaint with how GMs and the Company handles your concerns but how can they help kung sa specifications palang ng PC niyo patay na kaagad tayo diba? kawawa naman ang mga GMs, Mods, Game Developers and it dept. ng Dragonfly at MyGame.
notE: On my example I mentioned that SF's video card minimum requirement is 128MB. This is not official. Although, this is the a general fact for games such as SF. When you look at the chart on the prev. post it did not mention how much memory the Video card needs to have, but when you google the mentioned video cards the least memory caacity is 128MB.
6. Can not run multiple instances of Soldier Front / Gamehack Detected
These two problems occur when gameguard detects that another SF is running or gameguard thinks you have a Hacking tool running. For both problems what you can do is to "kill" all background application that runs once your computer is turned on. To "kill" a program you will need to go to the microsoft configuration console to disable all startup services and miscellenous services that is not critical for your computer.
I have written 3 possible fixes in this post. Fix #1, 2 & 3 can be used for the first problem, Can not run multiple instances of soldier Front (2). For the second problem, Gamehack Detected, use Fix #3.
Fix #1. Restart your computer and then login to P-Special forces, OR try,
Fix #2. a. turn your ext. modem off
b. turn your computer off
c. turn your modem on and wait for 2minutes
d. turn your PC on, and wait your the computer to regain Internet Connection
e. login to P-Spec.Forces
Fix #3. a. click on start, click RUN, type-in "msconfig" without the Quotes,
b. go to the startUP tab, and click on disable all.
c. go to the services tab, check HIDE ALL MICROSOFT services, and click on disable all.
d. click on apply then click OK and then REstart YOUR PC.
e. run SF.
NOTE: IF you lose internet connection, please follow the same instructions written in Fix #3 and perform the opposite command, enable all. Loosing internet connection only happens for people with a wireless internet access. Pero if broadband user ka, you don't need to worry.
7. GameGuard Initialization Error
Dude, pakisagot:
1. Bagong install SF mo?
2. May ininstall kang patch?
3. What have you done so far to resolve or fix the issue on your own?
Please follow the steps written in an attempt to resolve the issue:
1. go to C:\Program Files\Dragonfly\Special Force and right-click on the GameGuard folder
2. rename GameGuard to GameGuard_orig
3. relaunch sf.
8. DFPatcher.exe has encounter a problem and needs to be closed
1. Click on DON't send,
2. Restart your PC.
3. Download cumulative patch.
4. Save the Patch to your computer, then unzip it to C:\Program Files\Dragonfly\Special Force.
If your computer asks you if you want to Overwrite Files? click yes or yes TO ALL
I haven't experienced this error 1st hand but a friend of mine did, and according to him, he was installing a patch when this error message appeared. Please answer follow-up Question for future reference:
1. Are you installing SF for the first time when you got this error message?
2. Or are you installing a patch?
9. Unknown GameGuard Errors
1. Locate the *.erl files.
Go to C:\Program files\Dragonfly\Special Force\GameGuard\
2. Copy and the email the following files to
:npgg.erl
npgl1.erl
npgm.erl
npgmup.erl
npsc.erl
10. Cannot Run Multiple Instances / GameGuard error 380
Common troubleshooting steps/suggested fix:
1. Trash Special Force using Add/Remove or Programs & Features List (vista)
2. Delete the mygame folder under Program Files, then restart the computer.
3. DL the game client using a download manager, and install the client
4. DL the cumulative patch using a download manager, and install the patch.
5. (Optional) DL the manual patch using a download manager, and install the patch.
