iSRO 2023 - Possible to play the game?

Hi guys,

i am an old SRO player and asked me today if there is a serious way to play the game in 2023?

I thought about iSRO, since i moved to asia, i should have a nice latency i guess/hope. Back in the days from germany it was horrible.

But as far i googled now, i could only find basic informations.

Is there anyone in this community who can tell me (and propably some other interested ppl) about the situation at the moment?

What i need to play iSRO?
How about the community (still bot only)?
VIP System (what is it and how much it would cost, explained in a short way)?
What about the Server Cap (Any news on this or content ingame from the last years)?


I tested my old accounts and immediately the site asked me to reactivate the accounts and change shards for my chars.
But yeah, idk any of it. So how could i chose the right one?

Don't even consider it, it's a pure pay2play experience nowadays. Beside the fact that you'll find a maximum of 20 "real players", if you're lucky.

Well, thanks a lot for all the Informations.
I clearly know more now about all the sro stuff out there, but still struggling what to do.


I know i may never can get back these old memories in game. I am looking for a nostalgic feeling i propably would never find again.
Actually i dont really care about bots, i dont really care about 30€+-/2month.
And i guess many ppl feel similar to me.

I tried to download thre of the most suggested private servers (and holy moly, one of them writes on the website about more than 20k online players/chars), but sadly all clients are recognized as dangerous content in my SOPHOS anti Virus...

Sure also years ago it was similar and people just had to accept the fact of the virus notes. But today my computer is also my workplace and the security is managed by the company i work for. So definetly no chance for me to change that right now.

To answer your questions;

1. Yes, the community is still completely full of bots and no real players. I don't even have to explain further than this. Joymax reduced the capacity of all servers to 1000 players, and literally no joke, 98% of the online players at any given time are bots. You will be lucky to find more than 20 real players online at any given time (besides Fortress War time) in ISROR.

2. VIP System: The VIP system is a development from Joymax/JCPlanet from around 2016 to encourage charging and spending silk (classic money milk).

Spending a certain amount of Premium Silk (or C-Coin for JCPlanet) per month or per 3 months will grant you a special icon next to your character name, a special buff, and grant additional features such as skipping the login queue, access to the auto-hunt/auto-skill macros (in-game bot), etc.

There are 6 different VIP ranks.

VIP Iron:

• Required Silk Usage: 1~99 Premium Silk spent in 3 months. (This is 1~10 USD).
• Buff: None.
• Benefits: None.
• Character Icon:

VIP Bronze:

• Required Silk Usage: 100~299 Premium Silk spent in 1 month, 300+ for 3 months. (This is 10~29 USD).
• Buff: +5% HP/MP, +5% Attack Rate.
• Benefits: None.
• Character Icon:

VIP Silver:

• Required Silk Usage: 300~999 Premium Silk spent in 1 month, 900+ for 3 months. (This is 30~99 USD).
• Buff: +5% HP/MP, +10% Attack Rate.
• Benefits: Free Access (Bypass Login Queue like with Premium).
• Character Icon:

VIP Gold:

• Required Silk Usage: 1000~4999 Premium Silk spent in 1 month, 3000+ for 3 months. (This is 100~499 USD).
• Buff: +10% Phy./Mag. Attack, +10% Attack Rate, +5% Dmg Absorption.
• Benefits: Free Access (Bypass Login Queue like with Premium), Enabled Auto-Skill Macro (set setting, click on a mob/player, the set skills will automatically be used), Access to some exclusive VIP items in the Item Mall.

• Required Silk Usage: 5000+ Premium Silk spent in 1 month, 15000+ for 3 months. (This is 500~1500 USD).

• Required Silk Usage: Top 10 highest silk spenders in-game.

3. Server Cap & New Content: - Current official cap is level 140 which was added almost 6 years ago. Until now, nobody has reached level 140. The highest level player in ISROR is level 137, and there are only 2-3 other level 137 characters.

The highest degree is Degree 21 (Ultimate Items); however, there is no degree 18, 19, or 20. This update just recently came out introducing new dungeons, degree 16-17-21 items, and more. You can read about it on my post by

My opinion about ISROR:

The ISROR system has had so many broken and massive changes in the past decade that the game is completely unrecognizable to "old" 2005~2013 players. From alchemy, to jobbing, to even the item mall, everything is different than how it was.

Silkroad community is dying/dead for a long time and the game & its players have turned into a total shitshow for a couple years now. Official servers are dead, full of bots, and basically pay2login. Private servers (for the most part) are riddled with corruption and fake numbers. There's really nothing worth coming back for except the occasional good private server (Electus, Sailor).

If you can't play private servers, I recommend you just leave and don't look back, don't even bother downloading ISROR as it's a waste of your time & bandwidth. You won't find any sense of "nostalgia" by playing there, rather you'll simply destroy whatever good memories you have left of this game.

But anyway. Its also pserver style. I am lvl 66.
I startetd 1,5 days ago...

So like with all pservers. The way isnt the goal anymore. Basically my reason to play the game is gone...

Most private servers make a fast leveling process and rush to capped content as the vast majority of the community finds leveling useless and a waste of time, and would rather start PvE/PvP activities as soon as possible.

If you're looking for something with a more complete & original experience, I recommend checking out Sailor Online. The Sailor brand focuses on original, non-bot, long-term gameplay. They have a huge expansion of their 7 Seas server coming out in just a couple weeks on December 1st. You can read about their server by

However, they use the latest version of the ISROR files, unlike SROTimes and servers like SROTimes, which use older files with a more original and nostalgic system. Therefore, you'll be exposed to a lot of the new gameplay systems and content of ISROR and lose a lot of the original VSRO188 feeling. It's a tradeoff, but both have their own pros/cons. I'd recommend checking it out anyway if a long term & original experience is what you're looking for.

Yea i understand why they do that.
But this is one of the reasons why the players dont care abt their chars, the servers ore other stuff around.

No work needed to form your weapon in the game.
It is something i recognized back in iSRO. I had a looot of Pve and community game. Even with the slow leveling process. And my focus on having fun was much more triggered.

Would love to see a server with almost iSRO rates and a one time paid char.
A good running one. Paying 50$ to get an account xD

I will stop srotimes when i reach full level
But the way until then was ok for me, even if it is one of the worst servers (regarding my most important point: the way is the destination)....
Sadly too fast, no sox, no chance to farm gold bcs the drops are worth nothing, no use of drops anyway bcs in the npc is blue +3.
I would not have spent 5$ for my pickup pet if i knew its absolutely worthless in this server xD.

But so far the only server i could feel that, without being alone...

I case anyone want to know what i decided for.
I stopped playing SROTimes. Reasons mentioned little above.

But i will wait for the Sailor release.
They have an interesting plan with many interesting changes and a rate of 3x EP...

I just testet the open Beta of Sailor...

But i got immediately kicked because the sro client found some forbidden programs.
