Lag In Town? Read here ;)

Guys im logged on 3chars, i dont know why it lags so much cause i dont think i have a bad pc? I mean it lags in hotan every 5sec it freezes for 1sec. And in samarkand its not clear, its lagging sometimes abit.. **** im sick of this.

My PC:

AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Prosessor 4200+
2.21GHz 2GB,RAM

HD: 300GB
Graphic Card: 512MB,Geforce 8600 GT

So Tell me what can i do?
I have already formate my pc from begin and it do like this...

1: u wont lagg that much
2: u will reduce the traffic
3: whole 2 more people can play then just u

or...
reduce the graphics
you should really remove the shadows completely becouse its causing the most laggs lol

also you can try with F12 but don't do it on your main char (the one that's farming you) cuz i've found that some bots reads the hp/mp and other things from memory and the hud doesn't update those value wouldn't either.

so basically you can do these things:
-use F12
-look at floor when you move from samarkand to hotan
-use the 2 hot keys also, Z and V (well just one of them but i got used to both).
-more ram will help (think that for every client you have they use like 400mb of memory - that leaves 512mb for your system. if you have vista or 7 you that's nothing). oh, about memory also, if you plan to expand it and you have xp remember that on 32 bit versions you can only have 3 gb maximum.
-dcing one of the clients will help and make someone else happy. =) or maybe you will make an staller enter. xD

i think the best answer is the memory one. lag is when you can still see your char moving and mobs moving (they will look like idle) and suddenly you receive like tons of damage. freeze is caused by a lack of memory, maybe windows because of the lack of memory is doing **** on the background like changing the virtual memory size or whatever.

that's all i remember/experienced.

Here I got a Dual core 3.16Ghz, 4Gb ram, nvidia gt220, and asus p5ql, and with 2 clients on at the city, I still lag a bit (only at hotan though). Setting on Medium. Soo I'd say it's pretty normal that you lag.

im pretty sure you have the bloom effect or detailed shadows enabled

Windows 7 ? when i start silkroad with my laptop thats also running on windows 7 i start with no lagg, i lagg more and more and after 30 minutes its unplayable.... Why? xD
with windows xp it works great...

make the grapic very low and delete shadow and every noob effects

and when you go to town hold letter V in the game all players disapear and there will be no lags

Intel is the better CPU, AMD is cheaper though, and AMD is improving a lot too, but if you have enough money, go for the Intel i7 950/75
