I've never got this error before, but what SP do you have on XP..

No SP, SP2, SP3 ?

easy

delete silkroad then formate ur windows run an antivirus wich scan at bot then instell game again. that should work. i told u easy :P
Edit:~ It's not joke but there is another way idr it now any way ur pc have virus or ur windows have messing files.

Are you experiencing this error with other games ,or executable files (.exe`s)?

Here are some steps you should do,one of them should do the trick:
1.

Download and run this program,your computer is probably infected with the worm parite.

2.

Update your direct x files.

3.

Download and install it.
