Mainly depends on your weapon(s) and clothes/accessories.
Every char is good in its own ways, you just have to know how to play it.
I wont give any specific answer, cuz everybody would say something different ,and that will confuse you ^^
So choose the character that you like most.

Nothing is better, all have pros and cons.
Wizard - Highest damage (without crits) for EU, fast skills, need lots of SP to max all of them, easy to die, but overall an awesome build.
Warrior - Highest defense of the lot, strong skills good crits, very advanced build if you choose all 3 mastery, the tankers basically, not sure about the cons here, well, no i don't know the cons ^^ (oh wait, they are totally bugged for pvp)
Rogue - Highest damage (with crits) fast attacks, has range and close combat skills (xbow and dagger) can cause serious damage, but they die quick.
Bard - Pointless pvp build to be honest unless you have **** loads of EU with you to help, buffs, etc. the best plvl build since their attacks are the quickest in SRO (- shout lion) they have some awesome party buffs with other Bards, moving speed, that's about it. same defense as a Wizard without buffs so they die like nothing, pointless pvp build.
Warlock - Those are best as a sub-class imo, like a Warrior, Rogue i'm not too fond on the Warlock / Cleric build myself, but people will disagree. They have some nice debuffing skills, preferred for any PvP build.
Cleric - Total sub mastery, fits well with any of the above builds, so If you aren't Bard go Cleric for sub.
Best known builds.
Wizard / Cleric.
Wizard / Bard
Wizard / Warlock.
Warrior / Cleric.
Warrior / Warlock.
Rogue / Bard.
Rogue / Cleric.
Warlock / Cleric.
Warlock / Bard.
Bard / Cleric.
I think that's about it, imo EU are fun, but I will always prefer Chinese.

Well...EURO = PARTY PLAY (some times solo but it was made for party playing)
Chinese = soloing
And The cons for The euro warriors are = Low dmg if nt Crit...
and wizards = die super quickly
I personally love ROgues (xbow) they do Nearly same dmg as a Wizard And they are full str ... and they lvl fast too and great in pvp =] ... wel its up to u in the end =]

Yeah anything bard is an awesome solo grinder, I say bard because of speed and preemptive attack, You can easily go Cleric for sub for more survivability, but Wizard / Bards, Rogue / Bards are really nice to level with, Especially Wizards.
For pvp, I wouldn't recommend Bard at all, but it does work, the other day I saw a Warrior / Bard take on a Warrior / Cleric, and the **** Warrior / Bard won a couple, mind you this Warrior / Cleric was very experienced, pvp'd him a couple of times, he knew how to play his character, but he couldn't take her crits even with heals.
I do love to play Warrior / Warlocks, I know Holy Spell makes them useless but it's really nice to PvP with, no matter what. I haven't yet made myself a Warrior with sub Cleric, I've been thinking of converting over, but I already have a Wizard / Cleric, and a Bard / Cleric, ff, So I'm not really sure If I want 3 Clerics, I love Warlock.
If you want to go purely for PvP It has to be Warrior / Warlock,Cleric, there is no doubt they are the most fun to play, and can be very difficult to be killed If you are experienced and use your build to its full potential, then again, I think any build is like that.
In wars, party play, I enjoy Wizard the most, though my girlfriend loves to lure, and protect me, I don't think I've had more fun with any other character then dealing all the damage, It's just too fun.
In all it depends what you wanna do, every build is fun, heh even being a Cleric or Bard healing HP/MP can be fun, depends how you look at it, what mood your in, try make one that can do both offensive and defensive, (attacking or healing/buffing etc.)
PS: Forgot Rogue / Warlocks are overrated :P
