Hello, I have been away for a very long time. Today, I break that silence, and I am introducing you Shaiya Workbench.
Shaiya Workbench – think shStudio, but bigger. More evolved, more capability and modernization.
Shaiya Workbench is a desktop tool I've been building to bring Shaiya editing into one place instead of switching between a bunch of separate programs.
You can open SHPAK or SAF/SAH archives, browse extracted folders, and edit supported item, monster, NPC, quest, skill and appearance files. The editors are connected to the actual client resources, so you can go from a record to its models and textures without hunting everything down manually.
One of my favorite parts is the 3D preview. You can view textured monsters, NPCs and mounts, rotate them, zoom in, turn on wireframe and inspect individual model parts. There's also equipment fitting for supported armor, with a side-by-side comparison so you can see how a different appearance looks on a character before applying it.
The map tools cover client worlds and server maps, including terrain, dungeon and building geometry, object placements, portals, spawns, NPC locations, monster areas and safe zones. There are also model, texture and UV inspection tools, linked-resource browsing, search and a command palette, all in the same purple interface.
Edits stay local until you choose to save or stage them. Supported workflows include validation, undo/redo, verified exports and backups, so trying something out doesn't mean immediately overwriting your game files.
It's still in development. The creature previews are static rather than animated, and I'm currently finishing the remaining map-rendering, client/server pairing and reviewed deployment work. The screenshots show what's already running in the installed build, not mockups.
