He didn't specify what does he want to do with ANI files. ".ANI convert" to what? from what? He wanted to know how .ani works and structure is a good start for it. anton1312 is one of the very few people who know about .ANI files as far as I know. He may try to contact him. So my "advice" helps him in both ways.

Since he wants to know more about .ani files I believe my "advice" is going to help him more than yours but yes I agree he posted on the wrong section.

I asked him. Unfortunately, he knows nothing about ANI.
But I probably agree with you that this link may be useful to him.
