How To Add New Items to Shaiya

This post is old but, and 'armor' related, but it explains the basics of adding new stuff.

Just backup your files first, and do a few 'trial and error' until you get used to How it Works.

If I'm not mistaken, items are in .ITM whereas the armors are in MLT's...similar but different. Haven't ever messed with adding in weapons before so needing a guide for it.

To add weapons or shields, you'll need the .ITM it corresponds to.

Example:

You Want To Add A Custom Oasis Shield.

1) Create a .dds file that expresses the design you want for the shield.

2) Find a .3dc file that shows the skeleton you want for the shield.

3) If the Item ID for your shield is 39 123, then you'll need to open up the 39.ITM file in your item folder.

4) After that, add the new shield you want in a new row, using the name of your customized .dds file. Use the .3dc file you'd like to go with it, and keep the UNK value at 0.

5) Save it and close it, reopen shstudio, and ensure that the changes match your item.sdata

6) Save and run your item.sql, and restart your server.

7) Enjoy!

if ppl would do as u said they would see absolutly nothing ingame. u forgot the most important part.

- to apply a patch with the changes u made (modelfile + dds file + 3do (yh weps use 3do not 3dc as u said) + item.sdata with ur changes)

item.sql = server sided change which is important nothing to disagree their but by adding new weps the client change is as important as the server sided change.

Did all that, but the new shield is invisible, just checked the client and the files are all there, but no graphical view ingame.
