Failed badly creating a Shaiya server

Hello guys,

I thought about to setup a shaiya server so my family and I can meet up in a game we loved to play. Well, following nearly every tut available here I'm close to give up now.

The installation mostly went fine but then I stuck at services going into pause right after starting. Another time I got all the services running fine somhow but had to find out that I could not run the /nprotectoff command as this was causing the ps_game service to pause allways. Following another tutorial I got everything running but then could not find a client that I could login with. Every client I found was connecting to a server and tried to update althrough I did the /vchkoff command (of course I also edited the game.exe and changed it to my home ip). Well, is there anyone out there who would share is ep4 server files and maybe a client that won't update?

I even got me the MSQL Server Express to get this up and running because after trying the gSQL thing I had to do a fresh windows installation

I would really appreciate if someone could get me through this hard times ...

First, wrong section. Second, I can't help with the services going into pause, unless you tell me of the errors in PSM_Client/bin/log. Third, The client will always try to update if you have not bypassed the updater via patching game.exe. /vchkoff (Version Checking: Off) will stop the login server from comparing it's logged version to the game.exe's version.

Almost all server files will work with any client. Not well I'll admit, but they'll still work. They'll work much better if you use tools available here on ElitePvPers to patch your database to match the client-side resources.

Well, installed the EP3 Server files, upgraded to EP4 and I got all those lovely green arrows now.
I can do the command /vchkoff but after /nprotectoff the game goes to pause.

I managed it so far. I can login, create chars, use teleporters etc. but as soon as I click a mob I get disconnected with error 0. getitem also doesnt work.

River are you certain your entering /nprotectoff in the correct place. Expand game01 and right click Game and enter the command there!

Yes I did rightclick the Game and enter /nprotectoff. The server also answered somethinh like "NProtect off ok"

Then your game.exe does not match. Judging from your previous post you probably updated it. Get a fresh game.exe and you should be ready to roll!!!

The error about you clicking on a mob and getting disconnected is already posted with the appropiate fix.

Check that you are not using the game.exe that has already the commands (vchkoff/nprotectoff) applied.

And most important, check that your sdata/database/client match.

Thx alot, the game.exe was the real problem. Server running and able to play now :-)

I was also downloading the data file tool and played around with the item mall by following the tut's mentioned here. Anyway, (it's surely me again) I replaced sah/saf file with the freshly modified one, also imported the new SQL datas (output sql from shstudio) and was starting game services and the game.

Imagine ... "load game data error" after chosing my char.

So I was investigating here and had to find out that my original saf file was 2318MB, while the freshly modified one had only 2050MB. Also the sah file, which was originally 869K was now only 771K of size.

So I though I surely made a mistake and did it all again. Same result.

So I tried something different. Extracted all datas to a new folder and I was told by a lilttle window that it is extracting file x out of 20578 files. Right after extracting I chosed the "Build file from folder" and it told me adding file x of 20407 files. I did not edit any files nor did I even look into the new data folder and about 170 files seem to have gone to party somewhere else.
A right click of the folder in windows tells me 20407 files.

Is this just me? Please say No!

Question: is the 5.3 server easier to 'play' with if it comes to this?

hello guys i got a problem about my shaiya pravite server i can't log in to the game error massage account cannot exist or account ID & password wrong how can i solve this problem i change my Game.exe to 127.0.0.1 local but i can't go enter the game coz erro ID

most time that error appears if u have edit the skill.sdata or the monster.sdata pls take care that press the rght stuff by extracting and to run the changed files in sql again aswell!
