Hiring someone to remake an epic Pserver

Hi all,

do you guys know Shaiya Spirit ?

Till yesterday that was my home.. even while we had no GMs for 4 Months, we (the players) decided to keep the Server alive, even with Bugs and Hackers, we still had alot of Fun.

But yesterday it ended, idk what exactly happened, but one glitch followed the other, we couldnt buff, we couldnt attack.. and then everyone got banned.. or at least cant access their accounts.


But i had too much fun there, to give it up like that..


So im hiring someone or some ppl, to REMAKE that Server.
Of course you cannot access the Database, thats not what im asking for.

But it is possible to copy the Rates, Drops and other Things right ?
Thats what im asking you to do.. setup a new Shaiya Server, with the rates of Shaiya Spirit, and some other of its Features..

Well, i can tell you that most of the players, me too, were willing to make Donations. So if you rly do this and catch the old Players (i will support that), you already get awared.
But ontop of that, im going to give you a Reward for your Work.

A thread like this was posted some time ago, and i think that one failed..

The problem with it is, most Dev's dont wanna just copy another servers work (those that actually do well in servers anyways) Servers die cuz they dont work, or from bad management.
I know that Nevak was busy with exams and shizz, so maybe there was just a tempory set back involving the server.
But i dont think a "remake" even if someone did manage (really hard to get exact + the fixed ep5 skills there) version for you... not without putting alot of work into it, even then you wouldnt get the server for atleast a month.

Good luck is all i can say, if you're that serious about Spirit, either wait it out, or do as you asked in your post.. re-make it yourself, get some of the players together for new ideas, and read the guides here.. anyone can make a server.. you dont even need to know how to use a computer... my mum could probably do it if i taught her how to open this site
But not everyone can make a good server, drops, and game-play doesnt make a "good" server, the people that run it make a good server.. example ShaiyaX + Exile, so much care and thought.. and they work.

First, your right with what your saying.. and to be honest, im not really expecting anyone to do this, but i rly wanna get everything possible done to get it back, only once i know that i have tried everything and failed, THEN i will give it up. Not earlier.


But please stop saying "for you", this is not just for ME, it is for me and tons of others, Shaiya spirit was filled with great Ppl. I'm maybe 1 of 300 that want the Server back.

As for making it myself.. trust me i have worked 3 months on something but i just couldn't get it done, such work is simply not my Thing.

And about the Exams,, yes that was their Excuse 4 Months ago and we didnt get 1 single Sign from them.. Even if there are rly "endless" Exams they work on, i'm 99,999% sure that they would have a few minutes to check their Forums and just write a "We are aware, pls wait for us!!"

But nothing.. we can rly declare shaiya spirit for dead i guess.

Oh and about the Management.. remember, all we had was the server like it was set up by the Admins.
They didn't rly stay long, in the 1-2 months they were with us they only made a 15min long MM every Sunday and some naked pvp here and there.
What i wanna say is, whatever the "new" Management would be, it can only get better because Shaiya Spirit had no Management at all for the last 4 Months, but it will still alive, stable abd FUN because of the Setup and the Players... till it got hacked a few days ago.

By saying "for you" i ofcourse didnt mean "you" directly. I was talking about you and the others wanting the server back up.. But back to the topic.

You said yourself you had tried for months, maybe cuz it wasnt your thing it didnt work.. but who'se to say another Dev wants to make a server like that, that type of server may not be "their" thing. If you're gunna put so much work into something, you're gunna wanna make it your own, and you're gunna wanna enjoy it, have a passion for it.

I know what Spirit was like, i played there for a long time, a long time ago. I know it was a good server, i know it had alot of players, i know it was pretty fair and stable.. but they are all "was" in the past, no more.

All i can say is... either keep you're hope up for a pretty much, not gunna happen scenario that someone will make a copy of it (who knows some other player with more experience might give it a go, or even a few of you get together and work on it) or give up and move on..

Not saying it wont happen, just saying the chances of it, are very slim.

dedicate servers and more safe then a vps
i would recommend if you dont like this site use google to search for one
if you need help making server i would love to help you guys out to make the best pvp server

well as said, im rly willing to Host it and manage whatever i can, but i can give minimal or no support setting it up, MSQL and stuff that is..

can u give me a little range of the costs of VPS and dedicated servers?

usually around 50 - 200 $ depending on quality on VPS / Dedi server, VPS is cheaper, but less powerful.

You are better to go with a dedicate server it has more ram and lots more tools and stuff you can't use on vps and dedicate server much more safer then vps. Look what happen to shaiya unknown because they had a vps not a dedicate server and I would love to teach you about SQL and the other stuff to make a good server

Agree with you completely, Dedi > VPS ... but for "test" purposes, a VPS will do, just make sure your security is up to date, and you dont keep passwords like "shaiya123" like i've seen on 1 or 2 released servers xD

and btw, he said he already to set the server up himself, but sql and things arnt his "thing" xD thats why he wants some1 else for it
