[help] Instances

I have not been able to locate info on creating an instance. I would like to change CT to an instance, but I am not confident in how this is done. Thank you to those that are able and willing to help.

I had thought that would be the right place to be. I looked at map 64 for oi noting the settings of the open times portal duration and such. I figure if i set up CT the same way it should become an instance?

Yeah, copying OI would create the "instance" effect for you. That's what I have done for my instanced left portals of Stigma/Aurizen.

thanks nightmare ^_^ Thats interesting bit on AZ/stigma. Mind sharing what you had to do for just the left portal to be instanced? I ask this because the map.ini only shows 1 set of information for zone 38 (AZ). Im sure if i exported the svmap for 38 and checked the warp.csv there would obviously be two portals. Beyond that id be a little lost.

edit: I was looking into the portal that leads to CT, it states warp faction of 1002.. i could understand 1 or 2 being alliance or fury, but 1002?

Check your map.ini, each "Portal" of Stigma/Aurizen is a separate map. Go test it, go into each portal on your GM and check the map number. Each one is different. :P

CT is a little different. Think about how you get into it... who/what do you have to kill?
Check your obelisk.ini, from what I can tell, you looked at the FURY faction CT portal. Search in your obelisk.ini for 1978 (Haruhion Dragon Form), and you'll see this:

Not sure what bothmob_002 is, but I know you have to have a unique one for every mob you spawn in the obelisk.ini.

(20, 2, 604800, (20, 1002)) (mapid, changemobcount (how many times it spawns another mob after the first dies), respawn time in seconds, (mapid, portalID) - Portal ID is obviously the "Warp Faction" you seen. If that helps.

(454.09, 1.5, 191.76),(1975, 1978) (x coordinate, y coordinate, z coordinate),(mob1(human form),mob2(dragon form))

I hope this helped a bit.

This is what was running through my head.

Leave oblisk.ini for haru alone, as in 7day spawn. From my understanding the portal to CT is tied to the death of both haru forms. After both forms are dead the portal opens.

If i then edit the map.ini for the ct map to be like OI for X day at X time for X long. then the end result should be that after haru is killed ct will be open (example) tue at 4pm for 2 hours and thursday at 4am for 2 hours.

In addition, it seems to follow; as in OI, that leaving CT and reforming your party or waiting for however long should reset the instance and all bosses should respawn.

That sounds like it would work. It'd require a bit of testing to be sure, but leaving obelisk.ini, and changing map.ini, should still close the portal until Haru dies, then instancing the unlocked portal after it dies.

You are correct the couple of those two ID's (mapid, portalID) does indicate that the listed portal is tied to the specific boss. I verified this after searching for the GRB map and found three sets of (mapid, portalID) sirvana sylvana and Ethilios (spellings are probably wrong). As we know the portals in grb are definitely tied to a boss.

On a different note, is there a specific reason i cant find kimu in oblisk.ini ? I have searched for 835 being the mobid and also 11 being the zone with no luck

Also, after some testing around it seems ill need additional assistance on my instance idea. I edited map.ini for map 49, which im fairly sure is for fury CT, to have certain times. However, the portal was just open after killing haru.

I then edited oblisk.ini to remove the (mapid, portalid) section for the haru bothmob, but this stopped him spawning at all and kept the portal closed regardless of map.ini.

Annoyed is to say the least.

Yes it does, Castor. As Veritas explained in the post above. I know some about obelisk.ini, not much honestly, but I might could answer some questions if you had them.

@Veritas - As for CT, I was unsure if it'd work, because of how it's set up. I thought it would, but it seems not. Maybe obelisk.ini is loading after map.ini. Meaning maybe CT is instanced while Haru is up, but always open (unsure of instance status) after Haru is killed. Could this be a possibility? Also, walk into the Fury CT after killing Haru, press H, and get the MapID from the statistics (FPS, X,Y,Z,MapID) in the left hand corner of your screen, just to be 100% sure.

As for Kimu, I'm pretty sure he's set into the svmap itself. I'm not 100% sure, but since you can't find him in obelisk.ini, I bet he is in the svmap. With a respawn set in the database.

Thank you both again as well. This is a bit off topic; however, could either of you let me know how to fix a couple issues ive got. When i do /cmove command i always end up under the floor of all dungeons. Second, when i port to another map, my character is stuck in walking speed and i have to hit tab twice to pick up running again.

edit: ive looked into the mobs table in gamedefs to see if i could find something that resembles a spawn time for kimu and have had no luck. Could you point me to the right spot in the database please. I also checked all the csv that were created with the shaya data edit tool from zero (i think its his)

When moving with cmove, I believe it puts you in the same spot you were in previously (the coordinates of the previous map), unless there is a spawn place set in spawn.csv when you extract the svmap. I'm not 100% sure of this, but I believe it's how it's determined. Either way, you can just use /bmove x z mapid instead, if you know the coordinates.

I believe the "Respawn Time" column in PS_GameDefs.dbo.Mobs is AttackTime3 (It's in seconds)

found the spawn time with your info (Attack3 is time in seconds) you were close thank you very much.

Edit: Move commands and walking bit squared away.

Castor do you think the param. field is the +\- time of the spawn. Example: kimu is (OS) 12 hour spawn +\- 1 hour. Perhaps the 10 in param. field is 1 hour

What i did was make a mage on the main account then a rogue on the recruited account. But my friend has a 70 Demo lock. All you do is go to an instance at the appropriate lvl with the lock in your group. You make a macro that does /kick (locksname) /invite (locksname) Then you tag as many mobs as you can with fireball or whatever, once tagged have the lock send the felguard to kill them.
