Hi all! I am trying to hack Shaiya. I know it is server-side, and to hack server side I need to have access to the Server computer, but I'm thinking about something other. I can't hack the server, but maybe I can hack the client. For example you get 5000 EXP from a mob. Is the value 5000 send from the client to the server, or the server send the value to the client, and the client send it back to server? I want to know before I start doing something stupid. Its all server sided, so its stored there. You just send a packet that you killed THIS mob, server counts EXP, stores it, and sends back the EXP - to make it visually. Damage on mob are checked server-sided too.
In conclusion: EXP hack is impossible ^^

Then can't you make the client think that you killed a more powerful kind of mob for more exp? Like make the client send boss type information to the server when you kill something simple.

All the client does is show fancy animations.

Server does all the work. Server tells client when you kill something. Server tells client how much exp to display.
