Just found out a new effect included at Seafight files, maybe a new ammo is coming to the game.

not new ammo, this will be like skyfires, but this will cause more dmg in vodooshield 
source; check your forums patchday section, and u will find something change about skyfires

Fire a Voodoo Blast at your target and not only will its cannonball damage their ship, but a choking cloud of evil power might also envelop them and any ships near them, damaging their voodoo shields!

That's a good new item. Useful in fights when you are alone (or some) against much more enemies
