HWID ban question

If I play normally on a rust account for like 100 hours then I spoof and cheat is my actual hwid still at risk?

Please do not open a new thread every time you have a question about this topic. I have removed the others; please ask your question here instead. Kindly ensure you follow the forum rules.

To answer your question:

Yes, your HWID is at risk if you cheat. No matter which cheat you use or how you use it, the risk of a ban is always present.

All accounts that you have launched rust on with the hwid will be affected.

lets say u used account A in the past

Now u use account B, cheat and get banned

Account A will be fine UNTIL u open it on ur banned HWID

If u spoof after using account B, account A will be safe

they log HWID only when u login, they dont check when ur using other accounts.
Cuz otherwise if someone cheats in a public internet cafe, all innocent players get banned prevously? nope.

It will affect the current account, but not prior accounts unless you log back in to them once your hwid has been flagged.

Alright, I'm planning on reformating my windows do you recommend like fully reformating from a USB and deleting all my files or would just reinstalling windows from the settings be good enough?

A hardware ban is tied to your device's hardware, not the software. Reinstalling Windows, whether from the settings or a full reformat via USB, won't bypass a hardware ban(because you're talking software). Hope that clarifies!

Maybe it may work if you change your hardware, but you need to recognise which one or which ones first.

Yes, your actual HWID is still at risk if you cheat, even if you have played normally on your Rust account for 100 hours before using cheats. Rust’s anti-cheat systems, such as Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC) and BattlEye, monitor for suspicious activity and can issue a hardware ban (HWID ban) when cheating is detected. This type of ban targets your computer’s unique hardware identifiers—such as your motherboard serial, hard drive ID, MAC address, and BIOS UUID—rather than just your game account.

If your hardware gets flagged while cheating, any account you use on that same hardware can be affected. Even if you create a new account or reinstall Rust, the ban will persist as long as you’re using the same hardware identifiers. Spoofing your HWID (using a spoofer to change your hardware IDs) is the only technical way to avoid detection.

If you spoof correctly **before** logging in to the banned account, your new account should not be affected — as long as the spoof completely changes all the hardware identifiers that the anti-cheat tracks (e.g. motherboard serial, disk IDs, MAC address, BIOS UUID, etc.).

However, if the spoof is incomplete or fails for even one key identifier, the anti-cheat can link the banned account to your current hardware fingerprint and potentially flag your new account.

**Important points to remember:**
  • Always spoof **before** opening the banned account.
  • Make sure you use a spoofer that changes *all* tracked IDs, not just one or two.
  • Avoid logging in to a banned account without spoofing — doing so can instantly link and risk-ban your clean account.
  • Some games cache HWID data, so a proper cleanup (deleting traces/logs) can also help.
In short — yes, you can access the banned account safely *if* you’re fully spoofed, but one mistake can burn the clean account too.

No. Logging in to a banned account doesn't automatically record and ban your current hwid. The hwid ban is only created once, and thats at the time of the ban, not afterwards. I'm sure people can use GPT themselves, looks pretty awkward to use it in every response, especially when it's filled with hallucinations.

No. EAC ONLY bans the current hwid at the time of ban.

Sure as long as everything is properly spoofed. However, if you care about your main account i wouldnt recommending swapping back and forth like that.
