Good question! Many people are misled by sellers and promoters of perm HWID spoofers to believe that they are the one-stop solution to spoofing, and that they must be superior to temp spoofing as perm must be better than temp right! Perm spoofs me permanently?
The Honest Truth:
• All perm spoofers leave many personally identifiable information remaining which are logged by anticheats!
This data is persistent even after wipe and reinstalls, and BIOS reflashes.
• Many sellers force you to buy another SSD ($) to use or RAID 0 in conjunction with your existing drive. Using your motherboard’s integrated RAID controller still leaves your real serials exposed which can be gathered via sending the ATA_CMD_IDENTIFY/0xEC command to each diskdrive, or via the S.M.A.R.T. disk monitoring system. As a temp spoofer, we temporarily patch your system during runtime in an undetected fashion to disable these bruteforce drive information gathering strategies.
• They also usually only spoof your MAC address(es) from a registry point-of-view and at very most, permanently flashing new addresses and other unique data to your network cards (NICs) which has a high risk of bricking said hardware like in the personal case of Ausbloke testing some perm spoofers.
SMBIOS data is usually flashed onto motherboards, which is fine in itself. Unfortunately for developers of perm spoofers, motherboards exist from vendors like ASUS, Dell, Razer, HP, etc. which are locked-down and cannot have the data modified easily if at all.
• Sophisticated temp spoofers like our own (Cheato Spoofer) simply locate the stored copies of this data (SMBIOS tables) in your memory and rewrite these, along with runtime patching of the kernel to hide the true gathering of the SMBIOS information. This can be verified by using tools like DMIEDIT and AIDA64 which attempt to request the information from your motherboard via functions exposed by the Windows kernel.
Even if you are not using Cheato Spoofer, please avoid perm spoofers at all costs – including those deemed “undetected” or “working” as anti-cheats are logging your true serials, flagging them against banned data, but aren’t banning you yet (you can hook and log calls made by these anticheats, and analyse the data sent in AC network packets, and see for yourself)!
Is this legal? Will I be banned for using it?
Cheato Spoofer is completely legal as it does not interfere with other programs such as video games, or anti-cheats. It simply interacts with the Windows kernel, registry, and drivers to hide or modify information that is being tracked by privacy-invasive software (spyware).
It does not assist or interact with your gameplay in any way – the spoofer is NOT a cheat and is not intended to be used as a tool by cheaters.
It is not our responsibility in how our customers use Cheato Spoofer – if they are using it alongside cheats, that is not our problem.
Supporting clauses:
