Well so far no bans since the release, also never had problem with my old DX project in the past.
So i'm starting to thing dx detections are just rumors

You can still use the menu buttons.
Or maybe look for some kind of simulator of Keys, that when you press some key it will simulate it to one of the Numpad keys.
