[Development]Project Revelation (an epic 4 private server project)

I have started development on a epic 4 private server. In this thread i will post updates on the servers progress. Eventually i do plan on releasing a repack once the server is finished.

Sorry it took so long to get some screenshots. I was trying something out that didn't work as planned.

So far I have setup a e5.2 server and removed roaming guards.




RP is finished.







Even has this wonderful skill called Shadow Illusion that prints out a text saying "This skill is not implemented yet."

awesome project. If you need any data about late e4 (i guess 8 or 9 updates before e5 came out) i have some screenshots (around 3k for e4 in general) about Taming certain mobs (tame rates), especially Angel and Kenta (the non puls ultra pets in e4 based on appearance)

I need some info on the higher tier pets and what skill tree they used. I know salamander had rp skill tree. And angel had bp.

For the higher tier pets:

Salamander has the Skeleton Skill Tree
Hawkman got the Yeti Skill Tree
Angel got the Blue Pixie Skill Tree
Kenta got the Orc Skill Tree

About the stats - I think only the base stats of the rares (Kenta&Angel) were higher. The skill values remained the same since there Kenta's with the Strong Warrior Buff boosted the same value as the Orcish Strong Warrior Buff.

I only got my hands on a kenta for a short time but the damage was some what 10-20% higher than an orc so maybe the its around that percentage for the skill damage value/multiplier.

About the tame rates:

My guild back in e4 did a little project where we counted the tames and fails (also some other people contributed to this) but the rates were the following:

lvl 10 Creature Taming Skill:

Basic Pets (Tier 1): wasnt relevant to us - but someone said it's close to 100%
Common Pets (Tier 2): we have 79,71% (283 Tames / 355 Tries)
Uncommon Pets (Tier 3): we had 35,52% (65/183)
Rare Pets (Tier 4): we had 1,65% (5/304)

heh, yer that was months ago when I did that, but yes it is possible to get E4 back from the E5 client that Exiled created, you just need to replace the skills/pet skill database file and adjust some bugs when they occur. Looking at previous patch notes of each Epic release can give you some idea into what content was only available in E4 I think VI and TOA etc didn't existed.

For example the Siren's Whip skill I had to recreate it because the E5 used a different code to produce 3 hit skills. I even went way back to see what skills E3 Siren had, she used to have a 30 metre self cast fear spell that lasted 45 seconds but it had a 30 minute cooldown lol.

The only bug that I didn't understand was, when your pet hits Evo3 it can no longer auto attack and some auto attack ranges are really really long than usual.

In e4 i never got anything higher then a yeti or bp but i do remember what was added in e5.

I plan on finishing pet skills tommorow.

all I remember from epic 3 to epic 4 transition is broken characters. really what's so special about epic 4? epic 3 server would be more interesting.

well i cant say much about e3 since I didnt play it that much when it was out. I started playing seriously at the beginning of e4.

I only can say that the pets back then were more interesting than they are now. I mean now you can tame nearly everything. It would be a good system if the whole markets weren't flooded with unique pets all over the place. If the game wasnt that easygoing now and had real taming rates it would be at least more enjoyable than it is at the moment.

But in general I'd agree that a e3 server would be definitely interesting. The only point is that it would be a pain in the *** to create with a epic X GS.

what you talking about is official rappelz experience. to achieve that just make server with global rates and that would be it. no overflooded market, lower rates bigger satisfaction of achievements like obtaining good pet and so on. I played couple of years of epic 3. I can say epic 4 was the worst epic of all.

Well I guess that Exiled decision then, he loved E4, so I'll support him if he wants to make E4 again.

UPDATE: Currently the server is mostly done. Finishing up a few fixes and creating some tools to make beta launch easier. The server will be ran with our own login emu.

Is there any Date when the Beta will Launch ? Hours, Days, Months ?

The game will go straight to open beta. And I am aiming to be open before the end of June.
