In linux you can do reject without recieve packet fro man ip with iptable.
In windows ALWAYS accept the packet and if ip is denied he "kills" the packet but that have more cost in memory...
I think if you have been attacked by ddos the first thing what the DDoser does is a simply port scanning...
Moreover is very easy to show if a port is open / closed
Less ports less chances
Attack accuracy will drop down, specially if no UDP (Udp/Utp idk what) ports opened
I have such a bad feeling that you have no ******* idea what you are saying here.
All I need is ONE opened port (doesn't matter if TCP or UDP), which usually is 80 due a webserver or, if you do it with rappelz, 4500 due the Authserver (which isn't that stable...).
Then I'm an "aw3s0m3 pR0 h4xx0r" and use LOIC and (D)DOS you.
In my case it wouldn't cause much/anything, but when a Botnetwork attacks you, you are ******.
Dude, do me a favor and learn something about such stuff before start arguing with such a bullshit.

Thanks, now i dont have to write this^^
I Think they dudes dont know about DOS and (D)DOS^^
I just said if u close unnesessary ports, it might get harder to the new (D)DoS'ers because they dont know the basics, just as i dont too, but thats what i've been told

i lol'd.
Do me a favor and stop speaking about that anymore, you don't even know the basics of networking and wanna start discussing about DDoS,...
Well, xijezu,
If learning will make me more agressive and less helpful like it did to most devs then i dont wana learn, i remember when u wasnt this "Pro" in rappelz developing u was more helpful, of-course not in releasing because every one is proud of what you've released and did to rappelz, but u was more helpful in helping new people, i hope u get what i mean
What i said above isnt supposed to be disrespecting/insult for any one, its just a thing i always wanted to say
