When you are on a fast moving platform (ie, I tested with the Deeprun Tram) and you toss a "passable item" (such as 'Happy Fun Rock' or 'Leather Ball') between yourself and a team mate, the pathing gets messed up and a ghost copy of the ball fails to reach you, but it still gets in your inventory.
