It can be done, but I know some people who've reversed far more than their share of GameGuard and feel it's not worth the trouble. The consensus: just patch the protection out of the client and don't worry about emulating it.
On the other hand, if you have a LOT of free time and are very good at reversing, go for it
. There are plenty of guides on how to patch GG and other anti-cheats out of game clients on this forum and others if you need any more information on that.
