Not really, people often assume that but you're more likely to share more information with somebody if you pay for something via PayPal. We don't need to know your address, for example.

We do ask for ID, yes, but the majority of your ID can be covered up for your privacy and peace of mind.

The information we ask for is actually very limited.

As long as it meets the requirements, I don't see an issue with that. We only ask to see your photo, name, date of birth and the ID's expiry date. You can cover everything else up.
