In theory, I can end here. However, I have the desire to make a proxy program that can forward traffic between the game and the server. Then I can automatically decrypt packets instead of reading off the wire with a network sniffer.
I am using proxifier to redirect traffic to my man-in-the-middle. Again, everything works great through the log-in screen. However, when I have the proxy running, the game client freezes when attempting to load into the world. Everything you can do on the character selection screen works - but for some reason, the game client does not play nice at this point.
My man-in-the-middle program was set to be a dumb forwarder of traffic. It modifies nothing. However, I did notice that the character selection page will load in from
to populate the notice on the right side. When the proxy is running, this does not happen. I do not know if it is related. Is there some proxy detection that kicks in at world load, or is there something else going on I'm not thinking of that can come into play. I know for certain that all traffic between the game and the server is 100% correct, but I don't know why the client doesn't try to reach
or if my proxy is interferingStopped using a proxy and it worked. Problem solved
