The currency system in Path of Exile revolves around a variety of different orbs and scrolls. Each currency item serves a specific function in the crafting and enhancement of a character's equipment, or allowing restructuring of the character's passive skill tree in the case of the Orb of Regret.
Currency items are used to pay for items in player trading. Currency items can be found as drops from monsters or chests, bought directly from different vendors in town, or received through the use of the vendor recipe system by trading specific configurations of items to any town vendor.
Currency items play a large role in the player to player trading system, with rare orbs able to be traded for powerful equipment, or even other types of orbs that a player might need at the time for crafting.
Some players said that they can't find any early farming guides that doesn't require maps or some labs and whatnot. They need time tips on how to farm currency (such as what equipment, modifiers, locations, levels etc).
In fact, if you want farm currency early, the best strategy is to get to maps as fast as possible. If you don't want to trade I would get good with crafting recipes and if you do trade then around like lvl 40 or 50 may want to look for a weapon that can carry you to maps.
Just level up and pick up currency when it drops. You might have a few chaos or so by the time you get to maps to buy a starter 5link. Then just do maps.
Generally you don't want to spend a lot of time farming low level zones. The only time that is really worth doing is if you are playing hardcore (especially SSF) and want to overlevel for a tough boss.
If you are having trouble progressing as early as act 3-4 then there is probably an issue with how you are building your character. If you spend hours farming gear to remedy this, you will just run into the same problem again a few acts later when you outlevel that gear.
At worst there are a few places you can farm but I wouldn't bother until at least Act9. Just get resists capped and keep on trucking. Farm aqueducts or blood aqueducts for humility. If she you're doing this beast trading is in farm tidal island for deep ones presence/craicic presence mobs.
