should black market bumps count as posts
Hello Epvp members ,
I have had this idea for awhile now , and I am wondering if others feel the same as me. Now I always see people complaining about so called (trusted) people and referring to their post count etc saying because they have a high post count they are trusted.
well this brought me to the conclusion that anyone can create a post in the black market and bump their thread once a day. Now in my section some people even create 4 threads so thats 4 posts a day which add's up quickly.
My idea is to make it so that when someone makes a black market topic anything after the original post is not counted towards your post count.
If that does not work then maybe the whole black market section should not count towards someones post count.

Alright then, I'll ne the first one ticking "no".
I dont see the problem here. Nobody is "trusted", everyone is able to scam you. /fact

That may be true but in a lot of the communities people tend to say look at the number of posts the date joined and thanked posts.
also it is not just about being trusted in the Black Market , it is being dubbed a trusted member of that community to share bugs and glitches with. And also the idea came to me because I simply do not like my post count raising from a simple bump of a topic. I like to keep my post count for important things said not simple bumps of a few black market topics.

Even though I understand your intention, I still feel that there wouldn't be much point to your proposal. The number of posts of a user merely serves as an indicator for activity, but that's about it.
If there are really people who actually think that users are to be considered trustable, because they have reached a notable number of posts, I don't feel that lowering the this number would be the proper way of resolving this issue. Because if one was really into increasing his post count, he surely wouldn't need Black Market in order to achieve that, for there are tons of other (legitimate) ways to gather lots and lots of posts.
Which is why instead of trying to lower one's post count, I'd rather try to convince said people that their way of thinking is naive and foolish and that they will eventually be scammed if they are not cautious when conducting trades via Internet.

all valid points.
some may not care some may.(that's life)
but me personally I would rather not have my post count going up just because of bumps in the Black Market. I would like the ratio of posts to thanked posts to actually reflect how helpful someone may be.
I bet I could go through all my Black Market bumps and delete well over 200 which would usually mean I am often more helpful then not.
I thought it was a good idea that your bump posts wouldn't count. I have been to many forums where it is set up like this in their trade sections. I guess it just does not fit here.
Also if you don't care about post count you should respectfully be voting for mittens.

Many users don't even thank for "useful" posts as often as you might think. Thanks are mostly given for being funny or whatever.

I would like to know why everyone is being so negative towards it , instead try and find the good in what someone is trying to say instead of trying to point out all the negatives.
Sure many people give thanks for funny post's etc but is that even supposed to be done
( NO ) If most users actually used what it's meant to be for then we would not be having this discussion would we. It technically is a rule to not abuse the [THANKS] and only for useful posts. (apparently your many users don't understand that.)
Only reason I brought it up is because me as well as others in the section I am in have brought it up and thought it would help our section. ( maybe it don't fit in others )
The community I belong to seems to think it does.
Like I have said before the majority of the other forums I go to where bumping your own posts are allowed have no reflection on your post count.
I think it is time for me to retire from this thread.

Frage: Preisvergleichtheard am Black Market für Black Market erlaubt?
04/22/2010 - Main - 4 Replies
Aussehensolls dann ca so:
Leveling:
Anbieter xxx:
Preis:00 Itrader: 0P 0N 0N, Hand/Bot, Zahlungsmöglichkeiten:xxxx
Anbieter yyy:
Preis:00 Itrader: 0P 0N 0N, Hand/Bot, Zahlungsmöglichkeiten:xxxx

Count to 20 before a mod posts!
03/14/2010 - Off Topic - 4 Replies
Ohai!
Rules are simple,
- Count to 20 before a mod, Global mod or admin posts, the one posting the number 20, get to slap any staff member he/she want ^.^
- One number per post(if this weren't already clear)
- No double posts, or any other breaking of a "official" rule for that Mather.
- When a mod posts, you gota start all over.
