I wouldn't call it obsessed. It's the exact same thing with other series, like One Piece, for example. You see users with profile pics of the shows characters. Simply liking a show doesn't automatically mean you're obsessed with it - or do you have any other reasons for labeling them as "obsessed"?

I could not watch a series about speaking, coloured ponys and to be honest, I find it very unsual that so many people do, but anyway this is free country and you can watch whatever you want, as long as it isn't DSDS or GNTM. Then, I might just kill you.

What do you think, how did I react, when I first heard about the show? Believe it or not, I reacted the same as you did. I said: "How can anyone possibly like a show which has a target audience of 5-10 year old girls?!"

A week later I actually watched the show. Why? Because I thought it has to be special, if so many people like it. And turns out I was right. I'm not saying it is something everyone would enjoy. But it's definitely not what people expect it to be. There's great voice acting, amiable characters, a great community, and so much more, which makes this show better than anything I watched as a child on kids-TV. I understand every single person who says he or she likes "My little Pony" more than anyone who says he/she likes the shows you mentioned.

Something probably also worth mentioning: I'm not the one who usually watches cartoons, or even anime. Of course there are other series I watch, but that's stuff you'd consider more usual - "How I Met Your Mother", "The Walking Dead", etc.

"Pony's" is a short version of "Pony is", therefore your usage was wrong.

We don't, we simply say "Ponys" in German. Don't use the apostrophe.
