I have a MacBook Pro m1 and parallels, but whenever I start Nostale I get a black screen... it works with openGL but gets buggy in like 3 mins, so is there any way I can play with directx?
Hello,
There are a few third party programs allowing you to install and run .exe files.
Otherwise the best thing that you can do (when having a powerful Mac Device) is to install a Virtual Machine on to your iMac/MacBook. You can then install Windows 10 (which is free on the Internet) and run NosTale as usual.
Sorry for bringing this old thread into now, but I want say there is no ability to run NosTale on macOS or even Linux in playable state. Game suffers from performance issues on VMware and Wine with OpenGL backend, has mouse bug in CrossOver (and that makes game unplayable totally), and it's not working under VirtualBox (since it has weak graphical backends) and Parallels 17.
If anybody wish, contact developers and try to debug the issue with them.
Cheers
Not quite possible with m1 and other Apple ARM-based CPU's.
Also it can be also problem for future, non Windows-x86 computers - like Snapdragon based laptops with Linux.
It's worth to mention that it's not working on Parallels 18 too (using M1-based Mac for testing, not sure about other Macs).
It probably will change after macOS Ventura release, since it supports Metal 3 and with new graphical features Parallels also will get fixed. That means hopefully NosTale will get support in next year...

The issue isnt by Apple but a old Dead Language used by Client lel. Get a very Cheap Windows Notebook and done. NosTale will never be fully supported by Linux or MacOs.
