I know that dragging the window around has been used to give a temporary *** mode but once you stop dragging your window you are hit with a huge slap of damage.
Question is...
Has anyone tried the following.
Using a memory editor to freeze your health or stamina values at maximum.
or blocking network traffic pertaining to taking damage to essentially stop the client from responding when it is told its taking damage.
I do not see the current bug being server side at all.. it appears this bug is only possible because the client its self is responsible for keeping track of its health variable and has no corresponding server side calculations.
Other evidence that indicates this to be a thing would be the fact that your buffs are also client side. I know this because when getting overly stacked with buffs you can "bug" your client into not showing the well fed buff even after eating... if this was done server side.. you might get a graphical client side bug where it doesn't show the buff.. however... you get no health regen in the current state meaning that the client is responsible in some way shape or form of dictating your current buffs to the server.. also shows that your client is responsible for your health variable and not the server otherwise you would regen health regardless and the server would be telling your client the updated variable.
If anyone is getting into packet editing and cheating in online games.. New World is a pretty good start as the stuff you can do can be achieved using WPE and a very basic understanding of packet manipulation.
To anyone doubting me I would say google Cryoes for my previous exploits in the early 2000's in MapleStory and Mu Online.. alas the community I was apart of was the MPCFORUM community which has had its entire forum scrubbed from the internet when they changed ownership.
Again I have no time to actually sit there and attempt to do this nor the motivation anymore but I know that people on this forum most likely do so enjoy the theory and get to testing and hopefully producing a hack you can either sell or release publicly for fun.
Remember always try to break every single game you play through packet manipulation as a lot of the time servers do have issues with checks to ensure network traffic is valid.
