Using:

What I have tried:

-Allowed NSFW and associated programs through firewall.

-Accessed router and port forwarded 1337,5222 and 9998 with tcp/udp.

-Host machine IP is 192.168.0.4 and this is entered into the shortcut properties on secondary PC ("C:\Program Files\NFS World Offline\Need For Speed World\Data\soapbox.exe" US a 2)

No Joy.

I even tried reversing the process by running host on 192.168.0.3 and trying to access it from 192.168.0.4, no joy.

I don't know what else to try. Can anyone help?

Candice, what, if anything, did you do differently that you were finally able to connect via LAN?

I had the same... then i turned down my firewall and it worked...

What does "turned down" your firewall mean? Do you mean you disabled your firewall completely? I don't know why that would be necessary if the associated files have already been allowed through the firewall. Unless there's a process running that we are not aware of which needs to be added to the list.

I even tried allowing the ports through the firewall on my router and still no joy.

I got it to work, sort of. I went back in to the router software and re-entered the port forwarding and opened the firewall for the ports.

Then I went into my PCs firewall and created new rules. I entered the ports for both tcp and udp, incoming and outgoing, and checked all the boxes for public and private (previously I had only private checked).

I deleted all the instances of Need for Speed World in the list and re-entered Need for Speed World into the list and checked public and private (previously I had only private checked).

I was able to connect my husband's PC to the server running on my PC. I tried joining both PCs to a sprint. He joined multi-player and then I joined the same multi-player. We could see each other in the race lobby but once the race started, we were invisible to each other and neither one of us saw the other one finish the race, it was like we were in there alone.

At least I could get him connected to my server. Now to figure out how to see each other.

Update

This time I initiated the multi-player sprint race on the host PC and then had my husband join it. We were able to see each other and the chat worked. The problem is we could not see each others car moving. I finished the race. He still sees my car sitting at the start. Once I hit "next" and returned to free roam, he got a message saying "Lost connection to all players, race aborted".

Nizlao, was this intentional? I got MP to work with some minor sync issues using the standalone server files.

Whisper, event chat works back and forth just fine aswell. Now, since yesterday, the multi-player race stopped working. My game wont load into the MP race while my friends race loads fine. Any idea how to solve this issue?

Mp server is not fully implemented, sometimes work sometimes not...

We don't have the skills to fix it (yet).

Edit - Never mind i figured the issue. dont port foward port 10000. after i deleted all worked fine

this 10000 port is not related with the problem, it's another network port.

there is a trick...

the lower persona id MUST crate the race lobby to work...

the persona id shows up at console when you get freeroam for the first time.

. We used the same internet connection(wifi) but we can t see each other... It is a difference of a few seconds between us in lobby.

Nizlao, when me and fabx join together in a race, if i press alt+z while race is loading, I see his car, but once it starts, he disappears. what causes this problem and how can we fix it?
