SERVERERROR_FATAL_ERRORCODE_13 in 1-8 minutes

After downloading und unpacking server.rar (2015-07-28) I've updated Java and my python 2.x installation (created the link to C:\python27 for letting ServerEditor.exe start the server correct). As starting the game still resulted in FATAL ERROR 5 (server not started) I've used the board to find an updated ServerEditor.rar (2015-09-10).
The game launcher starts fine now.

But after some short time 1-8 minutes in the client (both in open-world and in safehouse) I'm prompted with

---------------------------

If I switch back to the desktop it's still possible to start a new client (therefore the server still works fine) with a self created link to nfsw.exe with parameters "US"

The server log (see spoiler for complete log of the minimal needed time [problem occured during selecting the driver) show some missing files - is there any new package which include them?

Is there anything else I can try to fix the SERVERERROR_FATAL_ERRORCODE_13? AV / Firewall was disabled for testing purposes but this didn't fix the problem either.

You'll likely get better feedback if you simply use [CTRL]+[C] when an error message is shown and post it as text here by [CTRL]+[V].

Hey guys, i've been trying for the last 5 hours to get this to work, so far nothing. I always get the SERVERERROR_FATAL_ERRORCODE_5 when launching nfsw.exe (through the Server Editor's Start NFS: World button)

Things i've already tried:
-followed carefully the instructions in the readme
-redownloaded and reinstalled everything (offline server, python, java)
-checked everything is running as admin
-changed the nfsw installation folder around (it's back on the default location now)

I'm using the client files provided by dev1ous (the MEGA link)
The link to ez_install in the readme was broken (or at least i didn't understand it) so i googled and downloaded this version

, not sure if it's the correct one, but it was the Python page.
After installing ez_setup.py i could install mitmproxy without any errors, so i believe it worked.

What am i missing?

From the very first part of your explanation you said "launching nfsw.exe"
So unless you misspoke, that is why you can not start the game and getting the error.

You do not launch the game via it's usual way when it was online.
You launch the file "ServerEditor.exe" that is inside of the server editor's folder.
You then click the start server button,close out the prompt that pops up, then wait a few seconds, then click the start nfs world button, which will prompt you to point it to the default location of the nfsw.exe and the server editor does the rest and again, you do not manually click the nfsw.exe yourself to launch the game.
You start the game, via the ServerEditor.exe
The default location of the nfsw.exe that you point the server editor to, is usually found here...
C:\ProgramData\Electronic Arts\Need For Speed World\Data\nfsw.exe
On win7-8 but in winxp, it is a different location.
it is not the shortcut that the game itself creates on your desktop when it was online that you point the server editor to either, it is the nfsw.exe, found in the games data folder.

In your folder options, you have to click the "show hidden files and folders" to find the games actual data folder and the nfsw.exe to point the server editor to.

Of course im launching through the Server Editor's button, not nfsw.exe directly. Edited the OP for clarity.

I assume you also pointed it to the correct file and not just the shortcut found on the desktop?
What is in the settings.ini located inside the server editor?
If you infact do have it pointing to the correct file, then I assume there is something wrong with how you installed python,

I just checked, left clicking the ez install link does not work.
Right click it and save link as, then execute it once it downloads.

So yah, uninstall python, java you dont have to redo and then do the rest of the install, via what the readme says as well as rightclicking and saving link as, with the ez install part then running it manually, then follow the rest of the readme and hope that works right for you.

Edit, plus, with all files you DL, right click them, click properties, insure windows did not set them to block and if so, unblock, click apply, then ok to close, then reright click them and run as Admin to install, as that is a must.
Even upon opening CMD prompt, right click and run as Admin

Even the persona's you DL, at least on my computer, are auto set to block by windows and I have to unblock them, to even use them.

Glad to have helped.

If you wish, here is a copy of what I have done with the server editor, to save you the trouble of finding and adding in all the goodies, shared by the community.
The main server editor that Berkay released, has some issues needing fixed, which together, the community shared the fixes and all the goodies.
My version includes almost everything.

Remember, you can have as many copies of the server editor as you desire as that does not matter and always make a back up copy of your main one, so if you decide to edit it, and mess up something, you have fresh copy.
That is, once you get it running, as you have done, so now, it's play time

extra goodies.

Includes many AI's such as dump trucks, firetrucks, and the famous ghost trailer.
My versions of the "unlock all tracks"

I believe I have those extra's included in the main folder as "extras" but if not, there they are.

So, I have been directly to this thread. I'm currently getting the ERRORCODE_5 error. I have tried all the fixes that have been previously posted on this thread with no success. I'll list what I have tried.

-Uninstalled Python and reinstalled it and re-done the process in the readme
-Turned off firewall and all anti-virus programs
-Re-downloaded and unzipped the server
-Run the servereditor as administrator
-Tried waiting 30 seconds before and after all of these steps
-Tried restarting PC

Any help would be appreciated, as I love this game and ant to drive around so bad! :c

Hi everybody,
One more time, thanks to everybody that makes this game still alive and thanks to this forum where I'm learning day by day.

I try to follow this forum daily but sometimes i can't, so maybe i've missed some interesting things. I have to say that I do researches before ask.
I use Notepad++ but I dont have idea how introduce data. Is there any basic tutorial about how to work with xml files in Notepad++? Any thread with instructions about what are the variables and values and how change them? (I promise share whatever I discover).
I'm enjoying as I rebuild my old drivers from some personas' file. I have amusement for a long time, since I had three drivers (two of them were banned) with a lot of cars (no Bugattis, no F1, a few Lambos and a lot of cheapest tunned cars).
I've found some bugs (or it's just my lack of experience), maybe some of you could help me:

- Nitro or powerups doesn't work at all or work randomly (I go to safehouse and return etc.)
- A question I have doubt: "all the tracks" works to race with bots or is it only a label of a meeting point (no race to do). I followed the instructions and I see the new map with all the tracks, but when I try to race, nothing happens.
- Solo escapes doesn't work for me even I did anything that it's said in this forum (maybe I was wrong editing files).

Option 1
right click the XML file, locate the "open with" option, highlight it with the cursor, a list of programs will show up, if notepad++ is there, simply pick it, if not, click the bottom "choose default program" then navigate to notepad++

Option 2
right click the XML file, then at the bottom click "properties"
It will then show what program is the default to open it with, click "change" then as above, if notepad++ does not show in the list, navigate to it.

In both cases, you will have a box to click to set the "open with" as default and after you do the above, you can simply left click XML's and it will open with notepad++ or what ever program you set as default.
Don't forget to click the "apply" as that is what will set said files to their said default program to open with.

This works with any and all files to set them to open with "X"

example, if you wish to play mp3 files with X, set it as shown in the above and if you rather play MP4's with a different media player, set it the same way.
same with gifs, jpgs, etc.

edit.
If said program is not in the list to open with, rather than having to navigate to it the hard way, simply make a shortcut to said program on your desktop, then to navigate to it, will be much more simple than to find it in its program folder.

- P-ups should work or not work at all (from my experience). I don't know how to help you with that.
- What "Unlock All Tracks" do you have? You may have forgot to copy-paste the files in "launchevent". What have you tried to race - do really no tracks work if you press single-player?
- Again, it looks like you didn't understand how to work with "launchevent". Go to the file of a meeting place - 374.xml (Overlook) - and change the event id field (you have to see there 374) to the event you like to change to (498, an unreleased team escape known as "Diner Escape"). Don't forget to save the file, then you load free roam and press single player option of Overlook - you should get Diner Escape instead of Overlook.
