Dein MySQL Server läuft nicht ODER in der mysql.sock steht (dankt Entpacken von irgend welchen MySQL Files während der SQL Server läuft) eine falsche pid!
Fix:

service mysql-server start
Sollte dies den Fehler NICHT beheben, guckste am Besten mal nach, was in der MySQL errorfile steht:

den "hostname" weißt du entweder, oder du gibst einfach "hostname" in Putty ein!
#Edit: im Falle, dass du in die err file guckst, kannst sie ja mal hier rein posten

danach musste im Grunde nur deine SQL User wieder neu einstellen, und es SOLLTE laufen!
